Below is the recap off of the Racemn.com site. As for how everyone did? I can only speak of the few I know that were there. Basically it was like a dodgeball race....lol. If you could stay out of trouble you stood 1/2 a chance.
For Graf he just came up a bit short in all of his races. He did make it to one of the B mains but came up short.
I believe Scott Winters also made into a B main, but came up a bit short.
As for me, I know I'm not a sprint car guy, but I got tangled up in a huge wreck in my heat where the other driver rolled his kart, put us both in the wall, and I'm betting is pretty sore. In my last chance race, the kart was awesome compared to the bent up one I had in the heat. I was moving up and just missed a flipping Mark Noble. I'm unsure where I finished as it was pretty chaotic out there.
All in all it was fun, painful, and a great time. Meet alot of drivers I'll probably never drive against again. Thanks to Barry, it was a memorable event. Next year I'm sure the bugs will be worked out and will be even a better event.
18 year old Alan Mondus of Lakeville, MN took home the $ 10,000 O'Reilly Bar Stool Racing World Championship on Saturday, November 10, 2006.
