Start – Johnson rushes out to the advantage at the drop of the green flag, but the jump was too big and the start is called back
Restart, Lap 1 – Leslie and Johnson race into the first turn, and again Johnson gets the point in the first turn; Leslie follows then Martin and Windom
Lap 2 – Leslie stays within a couple car lengths, then about a second behind is Martin and Hansen, who bolted to the front
Lap 3 – Branchcomb flipped in Turn 3, barrel rolling thru the turn and coming to a stop next to the wall; The red flag is thrown, and the cars stop on the frontstretch; The wall is lightly damaged, so repairs are needed
Restart, Lap 3 – Leslie challenges Johnson on the inside, but unable to get the position
Lap 4 – Leslie gets the lead from Johnson off Turn 2
Lap 5 – Lane into third, with Hansen still strong in fourth and Windom in fifth
Lap 6 – Nothing
Lap 7 – Leslie pulling away; Camarillo flipped hard in Turn 1 and landed on its side, with a line of fire trailing; The fire crew extinguished the fire in moments, and Camarillo climbed out the roll cage of the car under his own power and walked down the track
Restart, Lap 7 – Leslie gets on the throttle quickly, but Johnson sweeps by on the inside in Turn 2 and holds a car length lead at the flag stand
Lap 8 – Hansen up to third now, while Windom goes underneath Lane for fourth
Lap 9 – Johnson more than a second ahead of Leslie, who is now challenged by Hansen and Windom
Lap 10 – Windom goes underneath Hansen, and nearly picks him off in Turn 3
Lap 11 – Nothing
Lap 12 – Hansen gets second from Leslie after going to the bottom in Turn 2
Finish – Johnson, Hansen, Leslie, Windom, Rossi, Lane, Ziehl, Clark, Argo, Reinbold, Camarillo, Branchcomb. No Time
