I want to apologize to all of the loyal sprint car fans for this week's performance of Dirtvision.com. My webmaster has narrowed the problems down to malicious denial of service attacks. The problem is with the security level at the company that hosts the main site. We have been on the phone with their techs all night working to try and block the attacks. It appeared as if we had it fixed last night and we were good to go but we continued to get the attacks tonight. I have personally called the hosting company and expressed my disapproval of their ability to deliver the level of service. We are going to continue to work on the issues throughout the night tonight and tomorrow to get the site back up and running properly. Again I want to personally apologize to everyone for this unacceptable performance of the site. We will resolve the issue. Brian Dunlap Manager, Broadcast Services DIRT MotorSports

Brian,

I hope this issue will be solved, charging customers (fans) for something that can't be delivered just is not good for the sport.

Thanks for the response I look forward to a great year of WoO racing.

This is so much garbage and we are expected to believe it. I think everyone should call their credit card companies and protest the charges

Some of you guys need to lighten up, we got a sincere apology and explanation from the man in charge of DV. This technology is in it's infancy, and it's amazing that they even offer it to us. How many times has your internet or cable TV gone out, and did you ever get an apology and explanation for that?

I do agree, however, that they need to offer something to people that have paid for the service. Maybe an additional month free or something. I do believe they will get it right, eventually.

Apology accepted.  Technology is a wonderful thing ----- when it works.       I've had my share of frustrations with techological issues....  Computers and servers sometimes crash and malfuntion - it's a fact of life...  Patience, please.  I believe the apology to be sincere and I believe they are as frustrated as we are.

I have to disagree with you. Streaming live video and audio is not new technology. It has been around for some time now and is very sucessful when done correct.

i have not read all the posts here but i would say that dirt should offer a month of free cyber as a tryout to anyone wanting to sign up. you could go to a sign up page and sign up for a free month before you are charged. it would get the user numbers up so they could try to figure out the usage load under real world conditions and hopfully solve problems. if they can get the thing to work the way it should then they could charge more if they want to to help pay for the thing if that is what it takes. if people get what they want and it works good they might bitch about the price but i bet a lot of people would subscribe to something that worked for $100.00 a season cause they are paying almost that much to get into a 2 night show already. jmo

You've lost me Dirtvision, I was ready to sign up (Pay up) for the year but you guys can't even get the audio right. I've put up with what I thought was the most boring and repetitive Johnny "Hoot" Gibsons six song record collection for 4 years or so but that isn't half as frustrating as this crap tonight.

Let me know when you have a reliable service. My contact details are right here.

I would think that with the $50 odd million that this company has blown the last few years that it could set aside a few bucks to set up a reliable stream.

hawker would not be happy with woo unless they took off the wings and made double diamonds mandatory on the RR. and even then he would find something wrong. lol hawk! but i have to admit this was a piss poor showing from DV.
