TULSA, Okla. (December 3, 2008) – Despite fabricated innuendo to the contrary, racers and fans alike can kick off the New Year in style with the 24th Annual Tulsa Shootout at the QuikTrip Center's Tulsa Expo Raceway.

The action fires to life with five classes of Micro Sprints taking to the 1/5-mile clay oval on Thursday, January 1, 2009, for practice and then heat races.

Then on Friday, January 2, it's time for a full complement of Karts and Quads inside the QuikTrip Center, with 15 classes of Karts and four classes of Quads practicing and then contesting heat races.

Saturday, January 3, brings about the semi features and then the evening's 24th Annual Tulsa Shootout championship main events in all 24 racing divisions!

And, contrary to what certain recreant entities of an increasingly hopeless nature to the north would like for some to believe, the full purse will once again be paid out to each of the 24 divisions competing at the 24th Annual Tulsa Shootout regardless of car count.

In short, it's business as usual in Oklahoma as the Tulsa Shootout approaches a quarter of a century worth of racing tradition.

So, pack your bags, load up those trailers and get ready to bring in 2009 the right way with the 24th Annual Tulsa Shootout!
