Does anyone know if the Chili Bowl will be on pay per view again this year? I thought it was great for those of us that couldn't make the trip last year.

No Pay Per View this year. Speed is going to cover Sat night races. It won't air until the following weekend.

Tape Delay! Bummer.

Somebody on another board said he thought it was supposed to be LIVE on Speed. I hope he's right, but he probably wasn't. I suppose they would do it live if it was "Pinks vs the NASCAR relatives" or some of that reality crap they've be beating us to death with since the season ended. Last Sunday they didn't even bother showing Speed Report a second time 7 hours later. Instead they showed 18 straight episodes of one of their low buck crap programs. They used to still run Speed Report in the off season, but now it's off until "Sometime in January." They wouldn't even committ to a date. The only racing is dirt Late Models and the Legends Car series run last summer at Charlotte. When I first got DirecTV in 1996, those races were run LIVE on Sports South every Tuesday night in June, July and August. Then FOX bought all of the regional sports channels and killed all of the local racing, live and taped, that was on them. Speed too has declined under FOX ownership. When it comes racing, everything FOX touches turns to manure.

If you remember back in the day on Sports South they did some ASCS races as well. I don't mind drag racing but I cant stand that PINKS show. I don't know why. It might just be the fact its the only thing on Speed anymore. I think they have just wore it out.

Speaking of "Pinks", you'd think that with the rent of the strip, they'd also get use of the starting tree. Instead that bonehead has to stand out there and drop his arms to start the race....dumb!

the only thing worthy of watching pinks is to see if that retard will get bucked off a bike again, Ive never laughed so hard, now, I will stop and watch the torture, just to see if some bonehead makes fool of himself , that was classic!! nice!

well, I guess we will know the outcome of the chilli bowl prior to the one week delay, thanks speed !, (sarcastically) and what other large racing event is going on that the chilli bowl cant be live? missed the boat on this one . JMO

I don't get why they think tape delayed is the way to go. Once I know who one a race I could care less to watch it anyway. Its like the Outlaws deal if I happen to stumble across the week old event on the tube I'll watch it. If it is live I'll plan an evening around it.

exactly, Im not a big football fan, but, I will watch the superbowl just because the outcome is happening before your very eyes, I agree, if I stumbel across the delayed footage the first thing that pops into my head is "who won this particular event" and then, its tuff to keep interest , its too bad I was really looking forward to pay per view, webcast, or live on Speed, owell , guess ill just attend next year!

REALLY REALLY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS CHOICE! I know a lot of people were complaining about the delays and cautions(HBO especially I bet) but I didn't mind it at all. Just like being there. It was fun getting a bunch of people to come over, chip in a few bucks or bring some free beers and watch and party and all that other stuff I would initially do at a race anyway. I probably won't even watch the thing now because I can't stand not watching a live race. I'll just look up the results on here instead and be done with it.
