Really? I know some guys in mini stocks have a lot of time and money in their cars(no racecar is cheap) but do you really think they are as fast as sprint cars?? I know I am not the brightest person in the world, but that is just stupid.

Well I'm not sure how fast a sprint car runs but when the track is dry and everyone is playing follow the leader I'm sure the other cars are just as fast.

There's a reason why they are called the fastest cars on dirt...

considering the sincerity of the idea, I won't insult it. SFS not running mini-stocks is just 1 of many reasons it is my favorite track. Nothing against mini-stocks, the drivers, or their fans. I just don't like them that much. I've seen some good mini-stock races. But There isn't another track in the state (or the region) that can come close to the quality and quantity of sprint car racing SFS has. Thats what the majority of the people come to see. The 3 other classes have always been of high-quality there. The mods are great although I think they could be better and I also think soon enough they will be better (if Lanny quits pissing everybody off). The factory stocks now are more complicated. The quality is better .....due to the amount of $$ that a few of them are spending, but it's knocked the competition right out and the way I see it their more like street stocks anyway. The rules are utterly killin that class, but when it gets bad enough I'm sure a change will be made. The pro stocks were always a great class.....2nd only to the sprints.........for whatever reason they are on the way out. Not sayin this to piss off any pro stock drivers (hint, hint)......it's just the truth. They were only averaging about 15 at the end of last season.........and from that 15 it appears more than a few that are selling out........don't know bout the rest of ya'll.......but I haven't heard of any new crop of drivers coming in to race the pro stocks. I personally hope the class makes it, it's great racing most of the time. But I'm just as interested to see what happens when only 9 or 10 show up when they get past the 2nd or 3rd week. What do you all think? Will Lanny continue with the class through the rest of the season? Would he drop them? if so, what does he replace them with? I wouldn't think most of the drivers in the 4 other classes like the idea of running EVERY week. I, for one, would hate to see the pro's replaced with limited mods, but would hate it a hell of a lot more if it were the mini-stocks. But what else is there? Hey here's an idea.

Make the factory stock class what it is supposed to be. Go back to the old rules.....claim rule or whatever else. Take the ridiculous amount of money being spent in that class out. It's bound to piss off a couple drivers it gives clear advantages to but if they really are good they won't need all that money to win. Then once you have a TRUE factory stock class bring in street stocks. They would do well to replace the pro's. Then we could possibly be back to 5 GREAT classes at SFS. But thats just my opinion and I don't know everything there is to know about it. But I would like to hear some other thoughts on the pro stock situation........

If my opinions offend anyone I sincerely apologize. I'm not thinking all too clearly, but tonight I have an excuse..........I went to the Ballet. Yeah the ballet......Romeo and Juliet. You talk about sacrificing for Valentines Day.............but it is all worth as I am in the best of graces with the Chauffeur. I'll like friday nights a lot more come March. Good luck to you fellas on your Valentines Day with your misses. I myself hope I have suffered enough.lol.

if your chauffer read your post, your felling might be hurt and you might be looking for juliet or a rose or some other lady. i'm in agreement with you, friday nights and sat. nights at the races is just around the corner. i can hardly wait. just my opinion. prostocks and street stock are so close the only differance is the motor rule. open it up and the cars will increase. but lanny is a bonehead.

okc12- your probably right on the money with the factory stocks and pro stocks. if u havent read the rules of the limited mods comeing to meeker. the motor rules are what our factories should be running. im a factory stock driver and i can not come close to the allens and jorskey and the others. i just dont have the funds but i love racing

I just couldn't stay away from this. I know I will collect some flack for this but.

First off, Sure lanny is the promoter. But It's not all Lanny's fault. If you think back he stepped up to help save the track.

Remember Carson or even worse Bruce, he all but distoryed the track. I have been around this track since 1985. I have watched the ORA rule meetings. Damn the last meeting it was voted to use special intakes, tires and such in the factories. Sure glad Lanny nexed those. Saved the Factories some money. He lowered the weight of the car to make them safer. We are going to fast for 3500lb plus. He moved everyone to the same size track. Nation wide track are going to 38 or half mile. He moved the light poles. You know that take money. Track insurance has gone through the roof. So has fuel. Just sit back and think about it. And NO he doesn't get all the concession stand profits. Yes I am pro Lanny.

I have always fought to stop add this thing or add that thing. In the beginning factories were a kick out the windows put a roll cage in and lets go racing.

That was fun. As stated above. In 1989 the pro stock was what factories are today. How do I know.

I crewed on one of the top pro stock in 1986-1989. Then been building my own factory stock cars since 1990. I even have some of the rule books ( rather pages) from then. We the driver's and owners have voted the cost up. So, How do we fix this mess? Pro stock have priced themself out of racing. That's a fact. Factories are trying to do the same thing. And that's a fact. Just speak any motor builder that is building a factory motor. Where are they getting that kind of money? Sure hope they aren't barrowing it.

I think Pro stock should be let go. Just no competition. 15 cars means everyone goes to the A feature. So why race hard?

Move the Factories (112" frame) to a new class, (with their rules frozen) Make a new class. Metrics (108" frame) and (FREEZE THE RULE).

To solve the original question about mini's run them a couple of time to test the market value. Thank for your time.

That's my Opinion and I'm stick'en to it.

nahh I'll never quit 118 octane runs through the veins . I just pulled and engine out of the old car hauler , had to put 4 rags on each of the breathers to cut down on the smoke . Give me a good dry slick night and I might be able to make the feature I hope !!!!

I agree with the out of hand stuff in these cars we all created a monster , and just think all that money is spent for 250$ a night !lol

I'll be out there a few times this year , to throw out a monkey wrench or two

winners dont cry when they lose , they go back to the
drawing board and come back for round 2 !

if voting the factory stock prices up so high was an option............why isn't voting them back down. It's very VERY clear those spending the outrageous amounts of money in that class are the minority.......sure they probably bitch louder than everyone else.......but they still are statistically the minority.
