Who knows! There were about 9 races originally on the schedule that were cancelled between the Nationals and the next points race on Oct 10th.

I now see the Oct. 3rd winged event has been cancelled. I had taken off work for that one, what gives? What happened to the days of planning your vacation time around races and the scheds not changing? That's 2 trips down that way I had planned that the schedule was changed. I'll remember this next year when I make out my schedule.

Nine cancelled for the National Tour seems about right when you compare the early schedule to what is on there now...crazy...makes one wonder if they were ever really scheduled in the first place. I can't help but wonder why so many tracks would cancel at the last minute. I don't remember that happening with the WOO - unless weather was a factor, of course. I wonder what is "scheduled" for next year for the ASCS National Tour and if those dates are "firm".

Maybe the schedule was made before the fuel prices got so high - and with that some racers and spectators alike are not traveling like they used to so promoters are afraid of the gamble.

Carol. you make an excellent point, however, those tracks cancelling races for whatever reasons should make every effort in every way possible, as soon as possible to notify the fans of those changes. ASCS does a good job of this at their website but the tracks don't always do as well.

And this is the group that wants to have $45,000 360 winged sprint car shows with a "new and improved" National series next year?

I understand they've been peddling that idea to tracks all over the midwest and are being told, in no uncertain terms "NO THANKS".

NINE cancelled races. If it were the WoO or All Stars doing that, could you imagine the "outrage" you'd be hearing from naysayers?

Mr. Katich, your typical fair and balanced reporting. I have never heard of the ASCS series post dating or bouncing checks. Have you?

Who's reporting anything? I just gave an opinion on what I see and hear, based on talking to people who have been approached by the series. This new series will have difficulty finding dates based on who have already turned them down.

As far as your other snide comment, please show  me ONE person who didn't get their money from the so-called bounced and post-dated checks? And that's all I'm going to say about that.

The WoO sprint and late model divisions along with the mighty All-Stars (post Bert and Bridgett) have had their fair share of race cancellations and contracts that were never signed by the track and returned over the years. Make sure your biased remarks mention that too.

Obviously the "Webb mouthpiece" is a bit worried about the biggest thing in sprint car racing in recent history. John, when will you be interviewing Mr. Hahn about the ASCS???

When he gets his press credintials granted for the Chili Bowl?

Don't talk about other series having cancelled races. What about your great MidWestAllStars schedule John? I doubt most of the tracks on the ORIGINAL schedule even knew they were on it! A bunch of cosanctioned BS races ended up making most of a very slim schedule. I don't know if this ASCS thing will fly, but I for one will give at a chance. In north central IL. the tracks have gone to 360 shows to get away from the Webb BS.

I see the Spin Doctor has returned. Must be bored with all of the rain outs. Anyway, I'm bored too so here goes.

First off John, if you were the racing fan that you lead everyone to believe, then why do you not give your support to a new series with lots of money in the end of the year points fund, a good race payout and a chance for some more racers to make a living at what they do? It looks like someone is trying to better the sport and give the drivers more chances to race and us fans more chances to see the drivers yet you want to rip them whenever you get the chance.

Secondly, and I am asking this because I really do not know the answer, how many times did you have Emmett on your show to talk about things, and, if you did, when, and what were your thoughts and comments to him on your show?

Finally, David had this whole thing (as well as every other thing that you have posted about the ASCS and the Hahn's) summed up in one statement. It turns out this is nothing more than a personal vendetta. You just can't seem to admit it.

Keep spinning, it's going to be a long weekend with all of this rain.

Sweeton
