I haven't heard any news on this front in a while. Does NASCAR have to many drivers in their driver development programs already? Have they not noticed Cole Whitt, Chad Boat & Shane Golobic?

Cole Whitt and Chad Boat are 16, you have to be 18 to run in the National-Level NASCAR Series. Whitt will definitely be in NASCAR in a few years. I'm not so sure about the other two.

Quite frankly, I dont give a damn about napcar. That said, it really pisses me off when we see great young talent in sprint cars leave to go cruise in taxis. I do not think that napcar is the pinnacle of racing, pinnacle of money maybe but not racing. Some things in life make absolutely no sense and our sport losing such good talent early in their career makes me sick.
Cheers!

NASCAR itself has NOTHING to do with driver developement, other than nudging minority and female drivers into the spotlight.

The big Sprint Cup teams are the ones behind this "driver devolopement" BS. Every big Cup team has several D-drivers, but they put their Cup drivers into Nationwide cars for 90% of the races, and yet they wonder why the D-drivers don't start winning right out of the box.

Occasionally, a Denny Hamlin or Joey Lagano will win immediately in a Nationwide car, but they are the exception. Only a lucky very few, like Brad Keselowski are allowed to develope in a full time ride.

Even Jeff Gordon didn't win in Busch until his second year, and he was racing FULL TIME.

I agree... One of my pet peeves is to here so many of these young up and comers in Sprint Cars being interviewed and their goal is to race NASCAR someday. I just can't believe that's for the joy of driving a race car but rather to pay back or take care of mom and dad. I'm probably way off on this though. Maybe it is that they see NASACR as the pinnacle of racing. I see it as trading away the love of racing for the glitz and money that series offers.

It's great to have something to aspire to and I wish them success but when they make that jump I wont be watching them race 'till their back in something fun to watch. Now... seeing them make it into an Indy Car for the 500, that I can kinda get behind. If they mix in an American or two in that series I might actually watch a full race again.
