They're running the Twin 20's rained out on Fri instead of the orig sched 3 class show. I'm trying to decide if it's still worth a 200 mi roundtrip.
For Twin 20's (Diamond Series), will they have TT or seed the qual heats via WG handicap pts? (zzz Rahmer starts 12th / Hodnett 11th). Chances of nonFri night regulars (like KKaufmann, Stevie Smith, Chris Eash) running? Will it be like a Sprintweek car count or a regular Grove Fri show. Thanks. With gas prices, this has become a major investment decision.

From what I heard, no time trials...
More importantly, it's the 1st Annual Billy Kimmel memorial.

@ 11:20am Sunday, Williams Grove finally took down the banner on their website that still indicated 3 classes would run Sun night & explained the changes that were decided upon @ noon Fri.
Wonder how many fans didn't get the word & will show up expecting to see 15-17 heats of racing (including a 25L 410 feature), only to find they'll just see 6- 7 heats. Based on the way the weekend was promoted on the PA at the Grove on 8/22, the clear impression was that if Fri's Twin 20's were rained out, they'd be combined with the 3 class Sun program. Smells like bait & switch.
The original program would have been sufficient racing to justify a 200mi drive. A normal Fri 410 show, with just a 2nd A Main, but nothing else, isn't.
I'll be wearing my white shirt at home to honor Billy, while listening to the Ted Horn 100 from DuQuoin on USAC's website Pit Pass.
Bad call by the Grove.

What an awesome night of racing!
Congratulations to Mike Erdley & Fred Rahmer on their wins tonight!
That 2nd feature was almost as good as the show last Friday evening! What a hell of a show by Fred & the "Hammer" in that 2nd feature!
If you stayed home, you're a fool!

Not foolish enough to drive 200 miles for just 6 heats of racing, after 15-17 were advertised..
Saw the same 410's race last wk at the Grove (as good or better with #51's 2 wheel ride) with a great URC 360 show to boot.
If they'd have bothered to tell us the real deal on the P.A.at the Grove on 8/22, or even posted a full explanation on their webpage, I'd have planned it so I could have made Lincoln last night. Shorter drive & a full racing program (more, not less than originally advertised). Look at the confusion on the Grove's website Message Boards. A lot of fans were expecting all 3 classes & twin 20's (probably based on the 8/22 P.A. announcements).. Need to clearly explain the deal to customers upfront, so they can plan their holiday weekend accordingly. Look at things from the customers perspective or the distant or new fan who might not know all the other sources to find out what's actually going to happen.
After this deal, Lincoln will be getting my business, rather than the Grove.
