Tim Shaffer returned to victory lane with the O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions with his 4th win at a very familiar place, Lernerville Speedway. In a 3 day Labor Day stomp on tap, Shaffer in the Call Motorsports 83 machine took to the track in which he won a track championship in 1993.

Tyler Walker in the Kasey Kahne #91 took the early lead from his outside pole position for the first 8 circuits until his mount went to tall and went over the berm allowing Brock Mayes and Tim Shaffer to move past. Walker would come back a handful of circuits later until the caution flag flew for the 2nd time. On the restart, Walker led Shaffer and Mayes to the flag, but Shaffer would pull a bottom to top slide job on him to gain the lead for the first time.

Shaffer and Walker would make it a battle on the restart trading slide jobs and running wheel to wheel at times. Lap 27 brought out the final of 3 caution flags of the night as Shaffer held point with Walker and Mayes in tow. Walker would run up on the berm yet again allowing Shaffer to run seemingly effortlessly to the checkered flag.

The feature event saw plenty of passing opportunities as Brandon Martin in the Level Performance #11m would pick off 12 spots on his way to a 4th place run. Series point's leader Lance Dewease worked his way up 11 positions from his 20th place start to try to keep the points battle just that much tighter.

"It was great to get to race with Tyler (Walker) tonight. We've been racing together for a long time and we always seem to race each other good and clean," stated the "Steel City Outlaw." "This is now our 7th win over 40 days, I just can't thank Brian (Kemmenah) and Aaron (Call) enough, I am having the most fun racing that I have had in the past 10 years."

Heat Races were won by Lance Dewease (1st), Kevin Schaeffer (2nd), Steven Lines (3rd), and Rob Eyler (4th). Tim Shaffer won the O'Reilly All Star Dash. The Outerwears C-Main was won by Todd Bauer and the UNOH B-Main was won by Rod George.

The O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions continue their Labor Day swing Saturday, August 30th at Attica Raceway Park and will round out the busy weekend on August 31st at Hilltop Speedway.

45 cars, a big crowd (again), the best championship battle in sprint car racing and some of the best sprint car drivers in America...yep, the All Stars and 410 winged sprint car racing is really struggling. Maybe some folks need to take a look at what the All Stars are doing. Maybe, then, they can draw enough cars to run a B Main and race before an enthusiastic and appreciative crowd too. 410 winged sprint car racing is doing just fine, thank you. The product is fine, it's all about delivering the message.

The All Star product is great for Western PA, Ohio and parts of Indiana. Anywhere else and it's a bit of a laugher. They bring 6-8 competitive cars, have a silly race format with a meaningless dash, and aren't super organized with their schedules (several TBA dates that never get filled etc..) and website (seldom updated).

With that said, I wish them the best because they do fill a void for a good regional series that gives drivers a good payoff and fans a chance to see good 410 racing at a reasonable price.
