Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders Take Their Act to the CJ Raceway August 31!

(Bill W) Join the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders on Sunday, August 31 for more of the side-by-side, high-speed, dirt-slingin' action you've come to expect from the Invaders! The Sprint Invaders will tackle the 4/10 mile CJ Raceway in Columbus Junction, Iowa for the first time in 2008. The event will kick off six events covering five straight weekends of racing for the Sprint Invaders. The Louisa County Fairgrounds were underwater in June, but with lots of hard work by volunteers and perseverance by everyone, it's back in action, so don't miss this one!

Sunday's show marks the eighth visit for the Ideal Ready Sprint Invaders over the years. In 2007, West Burlington, Iowa's Nick Eastin was able to win his first career feature with the series, as he topped Kaley Gharst and Larry Pinegar II. Eastin, who had recently put his #22x team together, passed pole-sitter Russ Hall on the second lap, and never looked back in the May event.

In 2008, it's the "Lil' Dude" Bobby Mincer, who has been on a roll. On August 16, he won his second Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders of the season by topping all challengers in the first of Twin Features at the 34 Raceway near West Burlington, Iowa (Mike Houseman Jr. of Des Moines won the second). The Burlington native has climbed to the top of the standings, by way of his two wins, and three hard-charger efforts.

Just eleven points behind Mincer, is West Burlington's John Schulz, who also has two wins to his credit this year. Veteran Matt Rogerson, who won the season opener at 34 Raceway, is only three points behind Schulz. "The Professor" Josh Schneiderman, who just turned 21 years old and "Flyin'" Ryan Jamison from Mediapolis, Iowa are within striking range as well, and round out the top five in the standings.

The rookies with the series are running well. "A-MAC" Austin McCarl is just 15 years old, but showed the prowess of a veteran, finishing a career best third at 34. He is threatening the top ten contenders in the point race. "The Flying Farmer" Andy Huston is also showing steady progress after moving up from the mini-sprint ranks.

The CJ Raceway will be a good proving ground for all the Sprint Invaders competitors and whoever else may choose to venture to the high-speed oval! Join us for all the action, and be sure to visit with your favorite drivers afterwards. You're always welcome!

Pit gates open at 4:00 and Grandstands open at 5:30. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 with racing to follow. Admission is $12 for adults in the stands, and $25 for a pit pass.

Brian Hetrick Passes

The Sprint Invaders would like to extend their heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the family of Brian Hetrick on his untimely passing. Brian was active with the Sprint Invaders from the series inception, and always carried himself in a way that was an example to anyone that came in contact with the organization.

Camfab Offers Bonus for the "Highest Finishing 305"

Camfab has offered to award a $25 Gift Certificate from Midland Performance to the "Highest Finishing 305" in each Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invader feature race.

The Sprint Invaders season opener at 34 Raceway saw 32 winged sprints take to the track in search of a qualifying spot for the A-Main. One of those cars was the #23 car piloted by young gun Kevin Hetrick. Hetrick not only qualified but was the highest finishing 305, making him the first recipient of Camfab's award. Thank you Chris McGraw and congrats to Kevin Hetrick.

Don't forget to bring the Kids. Sprint Invaders is still celebrating the year of the fan by giving away a bunch of back packs full of school supplies for this Labor day back to school celebration. We Love our junior fans and most of our drivers have cards, pictures, or something for the kids. Come and sit the kids in your favourite car and take some pictures. It's a memory they will always cherish.

Tell me how much money you got and I'll tell you how

I went to this race track during a Fri. night away from the Knoxville Nats.. The track configuration is very nice and the lighting is great. Everything else is very old and its a little bit of a walk to the mens room. I enjoyed it. They had these Mod. Lites? that were very fast.

Enjoy, Later, JERSEY
