I'm just curious as to how it was attended by the sprint teams. I was told last year only about 3-4 of the top ten were there. Just curious to know if it was better attended by the 'CRA' teams this time around.

KOP, why just the sprint teams, don't you want to know about the midgets or any other class? Something tells me that your up to the normal "stir the pot" with your "concern." I just can't get over your deep concern for the USAC/CRA series and nothing else when your so far away from it. In case anybody else is such a close banquet buff, the original CRA had their banquet, also on Saturday, and the late report was (unlike KOP, I don't have instant gossip and results from Shuman by phone) that it was very well attended. Awards were given to many of those in attendance with a special award, presented by Jim Eiland going to Walt James. The Fausel award this year went to Richie and Becky Mostolio. I was also told that the many of the cash prizes were dontated back into the club.

Well, you read into it as you like, your call. There are some of us who are specifically interested in what the sprint teams are doing. Some like midgets, some Ford Focus cars and so on. What's the big deal there? I talked to a total of 7 car owners and/or drivers plus some other individuals (who I thought might have gone). This was BEFORE I posted here to see how the banquet went and who was there. None of them went. So, I made my post here to see if I could find out. If you think I'm the only one who was curious to know, guess again. Sometimes we all can learn info from this forum and I made my post as such.

For your statement: "I just can't get over your deep concern for the USAC/CRA series and nothing else when your so far away from it." I have friends in the series. They are good friends. so, there ya go.

It was good to hear the original CRA function went well. I know I would of liked to have been there.

So, you talked to 7 car owners and drivers plus "some other individuals" and they didn't go, so I'm to believe at that point you had no idea how many attended the banquet for your good friends? Let me be blunt and tell you how I read into all your posts, your pissed that Shuman is no longer in charge of the California group so you want to post anything and everything you can to bash, insult or otherwise tear down what is going on 2,000 miles form your home. Defend my observation if you wish, but I have talked to "many friends" including car owners, drivers and some other individuals (the pope didn't take my call, maybe you have his private number) and they all feel the same, and I really doubt Shuman himself enjoys you dragging him into your negative agenda. I for one would really appreciate if you would quit taking every opportunity to beat around the bush and troll for turmoil out there in California.

Lets see here JW........

I asked a simple question in this thread. You somehow took it and got all bent out of shape and it was YOU who brought up Ron's name (in both of your posts I might add).

In all the time I have been coming to this board, I have had only ONE person get so upset at me that they jumped all over me the way you have AND always seemed to mention Ron without me mentioning him first.

That person was first 'Sparky' then 'SWracing'. You have a third name now? Interesting. Unlike others, I recall having an 'agree to disagree' conversation with you was really impossible.

I think that you need to go back and read the post that KOP posted. It looks like he was only asking a simple question about USAC/CRA . You just added your own agenda to his post. I have read his post a few times and no where does he mention Mr. Shumans name. It was you that brought his name in to the post. I think that it is you that has a problem with Mr. Shuman. I also think that it is you that stirs the pot more than most JMO!! One more thing the Shuman deal has been over for some time now and most have moved on with the whole Shuman deal I think that you need to do the same.

Joe,

Thank You for your valuable input, sorry you missed the many times John has mentioned his close ties with Shu, as recently as 3 days ago when he mentions his "just talked to Shuman by phone" message pretty much sums it up. Also Joe, just a reminder that you might want to check with the PAS for a event update, I hear it is raining out there in Calif. and I wouldn't want you to have to drive "over 400 miles" like last year to find the event was cancelled one day earlier. I'm headed out of town and will be away from this board, but will fly in to LA early Sat morning, would you like a weather update when I get back?

Thanks for the weather update. But in-case you don't know I already live in California. I don't have to drive 400 miles only about 70 miles. Sorry I think that you have the wrong Joe . The Shuman deal was a bad deal for everyone that was involved. That is all I will say about it.

Joe:

Here is the post that JW / Sparky / SWracing (or what ever his name is this month) was refering to:

" talked to Ronnie tonight. I can't share all the details right now, but what I can say is that the organization of the ASCS region into Arizona was going to happen period. Car owner, Kevin Montgomery, along with a few others are leading this change. Once they established themselves, they offered Ronnie the position of 'Racing Director'. That position was going to be filled regardless who took it.

Unlike SCRA, he will do just that one function only. Others will run the group as before. As shown on the top of the page, there is a meeting coming up. There will be a lot of answers provided to the teams there."

As you can see, I was in conversation about the ASCS deal in Arizona. Why that bothered him is beyond me...LOL

If your at the track Saturday, enjoy!

Thanks for the info .I am glad to see that Mr.Shuman has not given up on the sport that he loves. I think that he will do a great job for the ASCA . Like In have said before I think that Ron Shuman was one of the best Sprint Car drivers in the world. He could come back today suit up and probabbly still give most of these drivers a run for there money JMO..
