The Weikel Racewear SpeedSTR series was on hand at the Oswego Speedway Saturday night. Ray Evernham was fast right out of the box laying down an average lap speed of over 113 MPH, yes 113 MPH. Evernham felt with some adjustments they could get some more speed out of his number 98 STR. The boys made the adjustments that Ray suggested but mother nature had it's own adjustments in mind and the show was unfortunately rained out before the second round of practice could take place.
The STR's presented by Weikel Racewear will make their next stop this Saturday June 28th on the dirt at the New Egypt Speedway where Billy "The Kid" Pauch will be behind the wheel of Evernham's 98 and Tracy Miller will be driving Erin Crocker's #19 STR. Erin is dedicated to helping women in racing and having Tracy with a lot of midget experience in her STR is a perfect fit.
