With all of these tech problems going on and talk of illegal parts, why don't we just all show up a little earlier and have our stacks checked, valve angle checked, and heads checked at the beginning of the night?
I bet this could be done in less than 5 minutes per car. Each car would GLADLY pay $10.00, hell we are already paying to draw, and 1/2 of the money could be used the pay the tech inspector(s) and the other 1/2 could go to the points fund or to buy more tech equipment.
If a tech inspector teched 12 cars in one hour he would make $60 per hour. Not bad for a part time gig.
As a competitor and car owner I would much rather pay 10 bucks to get teched ahead of time than get beat in a heat race by someone who is found illegal later in the night. The real shame of this whole deal is that by allowing illegal cars to run the heats, they mess up the passing points and line ups for the features.
Thoughts?

Got a good point. A tainted sport grows very little.

Why don't we just get rid of all engine and fuel
rules so there won't be any need for tech,
except for safety of course.

I think WOW went back to a bingo wheel draw. That's what we used at the LakeOzark Nats. last year. Alot of folks didn't care for the computer button push deal.

NO RULES---NO ENTREE FEES---AND NO PAYOUTS?
think about it....No need to pay tech officials. No reason to spend big money to cheat. The fans get a show and the racers aren't getting charged to put on the show. Racers who love to race will still compete and the winner gets champagne, trophy and a kiss from a sexy girl. Besides, how much money does a car owner need to make from a win to actually make a profit in sprint car racing? (only one guy can win each night..... right?)
WAIT!................instead of champagne, lets race for BEER and TROPHY GIRLS! (all trophy girls must be over 21 years of age and wearing nothing more than a bikini and heels)
