Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders Take Aim at Rogerson Sunday at 34 Raceway!
(Bill W) May 20, 2008 – The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders will return to the 34 Raceway on Sunday, May 25. All eyes will be on Matt Rogerson of Burlington, who has won five times at the facility in Sprint Invaders competition, including the series' season opener there in April.
While Rogerson is tops all-time at the facility, Jerrod Hull of Sikeston, Missouri enters the contest running well. Last Friday, Hull wired the field at the Morgan County Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois, and enters this weekend's event as the series' point leader. Hull also added to his Sprint Invaders' all-time career win mark with his 12th trip to victory lane. Current point leader, Bobby Mincer, has used consistency to climb atop the standings. He leads Hull by only three tallies and Rogerson by four.
The 3/8 mile banked oval just west of West Burlington, Iowa has hosted some sensational sprint car action as of late, and this Sunday should be no different! Drivers expected to challenge Rogerson, Hull and Mincer include John Schulz, Josh Schneiderman, Russ Hall, Matt Sutton, "Flyin'" Ryan Jamison, Korey Weyant, Jordan Goldesberry, Jimmy Davies, and many more!
In April, 32 cars assembled for the Sprint Invaders opener at 34 Raceway, and with the Holiday weekend in effect, we should see similar numbers as race teams from the Midwest make their plans to join us. First year sprint car stars Mark Shirshekan who finished sixth at Jacksonville, Fifteen year old Austin McCarl and ¾ quarter midget graduate Andy Huston have already thrilled Sprint Invaders crowds this season as their careers begin. Join us on Sunday for all the action!
Camfab Offers Bonus for the "Highest Finishing 305"
Camfab has offered to award a $25 Gift Certificate from Midland Performance to the "Highest Finishing 305" in each Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invader feature race.
The Sprint Invaders season opener at 34 Raceway saw 32 winged sprints take to the track in search of a qualifying spot for the A-Main. One of those cars was the #23 car piloted by young gun Kevin Hetrick. Hetrick not only qualified but was the highest finishing 305, making him the first recipient of Camfab's award. Thank you Chris McGraw and congrats to Kevin Hetrick.
