What are the engine rules for the non-wing sprints at Huset's, I90, Lake County and Rapid (Iowa) Speedways? Are they 410s, 360s, etc.? Injected/carb? We are adding them to our coverage and any help is appreciated,

Thanks,
Lance Jennings

Bill Mellenbrent oversees the wingless here in S.D. you can contact him at (605)332-1411work

We run 360 ci injected and rules are pretty flexable.

I have full records on all non-wing racing in South Dakota, whether it's part of Bill Mellenberndt's group or not. All feature winners with dates and individual track championships. I don't have overall point records on Mellenberndt's group.

If you want anything I'm at [email protected]

I can not speak for anything that happend years ago,but this year Bret,Trisha and Jeff Davis all used Bills Hartford legal motors all season . The heartland group allows about any engine to run to have a good feild of cars but those that are not legal declare it at start of night and are paid for last,Everyone in our group is very happy with this setup and noone cares about if someone has more hp or not. Its just great racing without any of the bs that seems to follow some other groups.Bret only ran a big motor the open nite at husets (the last Thursday) and that was only a ascs 360.

Ya know troll, you bitch a lot about people whining on here like about unloading or something.....WTF are you doing now?? If you want to start up an organization and put the time into it that it would take, go ahead. Otherwise let them have their organization and they can do with it whatever they want.

My comment was not bitching or whinning just pointing something out, The last year that the wingless ran at I90 with Terry Cameron as promoter there were many drivers that quit running because they had NO CHANCE to wina FAIR race because the cars WERE NOT LEGAL OR EQUAL.

When the other drivers complained about the motor that bret had they were told that it was a 360 motor HOWEVER the engine builder told everyone different. When Lyle Howie came in and decided that ALL cars would HAVE TO HAVE the same motors Bill started his own sanction. No whinning no bitching. JUST THE FACTS. If he wants to run HIS own sanction fine I just stated a point that Bills family members or people that bought motors from him were NOT TECHED because it was his sanction. Why race a sanction if it is NOT EQUAL AND FAIR

Bitching at people about unloading yes if your a fricking baby and cannot unload the car and equipment to race stay the hell home. Want to whin about promoters not doing therir jobs doing track prep yea I'm going to defend the promoters BUT if someone is getting favortism and being allowed to run illeagle yea I'm going to jump on that one too.

None of us bought our engines, he just let us use them and return um when were done, if it was not for him many of us would not have been able to race,He owned motors in half the feild.thats a heck a guy if you ask me.

Thanks. We have started to add the groups to our website and any information or history is appreciated. Feel free to email me at [email protected].

Regardless of politics, I think we can help get the word out on the South Dakota (or any other) non-wing sprint car groups. No offense to winged sprints, but most non-wing groups get very little coverage.

Thanks,
Lance Jennings
