I read on the West Capital site that the great Gary Patterson's good friend Manuel Mello passed away on Tuesday. RIP Manuel.

Having grown up in Davis and knowing Manny so well, I feel for his passing. His sister lived on the ranch next to ours and we all went to school together. Even after we moved to Roseville Manny would ride the Greyhound to Roseville to go to the races and call John to pick him up. He truly loved GP. Remember the young days when we would go to the donut shop after school Manny always waited for hours in his Dad's truck in front of the pool hall. A devoted Race Fan
