12-15 Midgets (Dave Darland, Davey Ray & Bubba Altig) were some of the names I recognized.
20+ Legend's & Winged Karts on hand.
Should be very good racing tomorrow & Sunday as the track was really worked in after 3 10 lap session for each class.
I would strongly suggest wearing a dust mask and goggles as the fumes will get to you with in a half hour with all the fumes coming off the cars. I know that the Sandbox will address the ventilation in the future but unless you are use to the fumes it can be problem. Also dress warm, they leave a couple of the garage doors open for the Legend & Winged Karts that are pitted outside. If the fumes do get to bad for you there is limited viewing in the lobby through plexiglas windows which you can see the whole track from.

Again just my opinion!

12-15 midgets? I was hoping this was going to be the next best thing to the chili bowl. I heard Davey's engine went down during practice. A couple more go down and I could of went up there and made the top ten!

Last night was a practice session and typically you don't see all the cars practicing. There are no midgets to my knowledge based in western Wisconsin or Minnesota. They're all traveling at least 300 miles or more so probably not everybody was able to get off work for the practice session. I would look for more cars tonight but I never stick my neck out and make predictions on car counts for any event.

Chili Bowl comparisons were inevitable but the race organizers know they're not even in the same league as something that big. We've had a long miserable winter, we've got cabin fever and we're just trying to have a little fun up here before the snow melts.

Saturday's races were all fantastic. The first Midget heat alone was worth the price of admission, it was probably the best race I've seen in years.

Sunday, the track was over watered and one line. Very little if any passing, but the top half dozen in the feature were hose to tail and FLYING the whole race.

Can't wait for next year!

It looked something like this from where I was standing.
