The field of cars in the 410 class at Knoxville looks tougher than ever for 2008, assuming the likes of Hindi, Tatnell, Wimmer and others run the full schedule. The addition of these three cars will add to the very competitve field we have had in recent years. These three should replace recent drivers who have left, and give Brown and others a run for their money in the championship. Here are my top five in points in no particular order. What does everybody else think?
*Brian Brown- Class of the field week in and week out, if he don't break, he is tough to beat from anywhere in the field.
*Mark Dobmeier- This team has been improving each year that they come to Knoxville. I believe he got his first win of his career at Knoxville on twin features night last year. If he can qualify consistently, he will be a factor.
*Kaley Gharst- This guy is fun to watch drive a sprint car. I think he probably passed the most cars ever in a season at Knoxville last year. Once again qualifying consistently will be huge.
*Billy Alley- I hope Billy can return to championship form this year. Hopefully a win early in the season will give this new team confidence, and Billy can challenge for the championship. The battle in '06 was priceless.
*Booke Tatnell- Their is no question this guy can drive a racecar. If the team can provide him with a fast racecar, he will be a contender each and every week. Hopefully, they are around for the full season.
Surprises in '08:
Davey Heskin- This kid turned some heads last year, and hopefully the improvement continues.
Brandon Wimmer- Looked strong at the nationals, until a slide job went bad in turn 2.
Dion Hindi- Picked up his first win last year, veteran driver.
I am ready for an exciting year, and we are less than a month away!!!!!

I was wondering what Dion Hindi had planned for this year.

Skip Jackson has finished in the top five 14 out of 15 seasons. You should probably at least consider him in your top five.
Looking to confirm a couple more drivers too. That may change your top five predictions...

I expect Zomer will be there (he has one of his motors from last year), the one's I'm thinking of aren't on our "Drivers" list yet.

Rumer has Lasoski and Henderson being there. That would make an outstanding weekly program.

Duane talk knoxville into paying $5000 to win and $500 to start every week and the hell with the Outlaws.

If the names listed above are for real I might be racking up a ton of frequent flyer miles this summer.
I wouldn't count on anyone to step out of the 360 class and be a legit championship contender at Knoxville first year with the talent that runs there, even as good as Peters is.
And this isn't Grand Forks or Husets caliber competition so while I expect improvement from Dobmeier to say he will run away with it is ridiculous.
I would like to know if Cram is going to run the whole season in Gifford's 17G...? If not who is?
My sleeper pick for most improved is Rager Phillips.

I'm glad to see that somebody noticed Davey Heskin. I didn't get down to Knoxville last year but saw him at a couple of local races. He's going to be a good one.
Knoxville racing is going to be pretty good this season. I'm looking forward to seeing some of these guys with the IRA and Outlaw shows in our area. I won't be getting down to Knoxville again this year because I don't think the Ranger would make it that far. :)

good to see both rager and heskin getting noticed. rager is getting ready for maybe his greatest season yet. Heskin was great last year as a rookie and will only get better.

I think mudder is right, who needs the WoO or the AllStars, if they can pull off this lineup Knoxville will get a big part of my money this summer. It's nice to see some excitement about a WEEKLY show instead of all the travelers getting most of the headlines. I grow tired of all the traveling shows and have become more of a fan of the weekly shows. The hype of the traveling circus rarely meets expectations.

Just added Kaylene Verville today to the 410 class and Danny Heskin to the 360 class...I was into the office today. No confirmation on Henderson or Lasoski...

WOW. I haven't seen a list of names and talent that deep at Knoxville in years. Cram back for a full year could win it. Mitrisin could win races. I see no fewer than 15 drivers on the 410 list that could win any given night.

It sounds from this Okie that Knoxville weekly is the track to be at. Then again as we sit and speak on what would be the perfect world, Knoxville on a Saturday night with 410's and 360's only is tough to beat. Not only the regulars but on the account that you never know who will pop in on any given Saturday night.
Congrats you guys, now you should have nothing to complain about.

I hope your right about Rager - He has really improved over the past couple years. Last year he crashed very hard 2 weeks in a row I am thinking and I think it affected his right foot a little but hopefully he comes back very strong this year. Doesn't he have a little brother that races now in the "Invaders" ?? I wonder if he will be running Knoxville before too long.]
If they bring back the "Rodeo Clay" that they put on the track a few years back just before the 1200lb Nationals it would benefit Cram, He seemed to be the only driver to have that stuff figured out. He was leading the points up to the time that they took that new dirt off. CramMan rocks, glad to see him back in action.
