I see that Donnie Ray Crawford got a ride in one of the Kunz cars. He is also entered for Wednesday night. With the new rules regarding new drivers, shouldn't he be running Tuesday? As far as I know, he has never run a midget and I believe his only championship lies with a local micro sprint class.

Here is the rule as copied from the Chili Bowl web site:

Several guidelines have been established to determine who will be required to compete in the Pre-Qualifier. Those exempt from the Pre-Qualifier will include drivers that qualified for an "F" Feature or better in the 2006 Chili Bowl Nationals, drivers with five or more years of Chili Bowl racing experience and drivers that rank among the top ten with a major, recognized sanctioning body or with equivalent experience.

It is anticipated that approximately 200 entries will be assigned to one of three Qualifying nights, with the balance of the entries battling for a Qualifying night berth by way of the Pre-Qualifier. The top 15 finishers in the Pre-Qualifier "A" Feature will transfer to the traditional Qualifying night events. The balance of the Pre-Qualifier field will fill out Saturday afternoon's early championship feature events.

However...................

Maybe Crawford gets in because Kunz is the owner and he has been at the Chili Bowl within the allotted time frame?

Example: If Andy Bondio didn't have Kruzer in the car next year, they wouldn't make him run the 'qualifier' because he put someone else in it would they?

Then again, the 'rule' does mention 'drivers' and not owners. Maybe the PR guy can post their ruling for us?

I guess whatever local track he runs at is a major, recognized sanctioning body.

Just emailed a radio station here in Tulsa that Emmett Hahn was doing an interview with, and I asked the question why Donnie does not have to race on Tuesday night? Donnie agreed to race any night that he was put into, it did not matter to him. Emmett said he was put on Thursday night becuase of the owner of the car. Kunz, He wanted Kunz's cars spread throught the week.
