why are the All-Stars scheduling so hard core against ASCS or big 360 races?

Appears they have done it in the Florida - and more sadly - the Knoxville 360 Nationals.

Have the proponents of this little 410 vs. 360 feud become so disillusioned and wrapped up in it that they don't mind putting fans in a less than desireable position? before everyone gets to runnin their gums - the real issue I'm pointing out is this.

at least the last few years - hasn't everyone in Florida NOT ran against each other? and it looked to work out well. gave fans a whole crapload of awesome racing to see over what - 2 weeks? I mean - fans weren't placed in position to choose which race to go see.............were they?

And also - wasn't the Belleville Midget Nationals held the week prior to Knoxville's 360 Nationals? didn;t that work out well for everyone too? Gave funs in the midwest a great opportunity to see 3 staright bad ass weekend of racing. Now it appears come July 31st they will yet again have to choose? Id there another midget race that weekend or somthin? I don't think it will hurt the Knoxville 360 car count, but my problem is it makes fans have to choose - instead of seeing all of it - they have to choose. I was hoping to see both the Belleville and Knoxville 360 races this year. guess I can quit plannin that one. Whats next - an All-Star race at West Memphis (the Ditch) during the Short Track Nationals?

I have other thoughts on the matter too - but I just want to see what others think. I know most of ya'll on this forum are big 410 fans - and hey thats great. Ya'll probably get to see a good deal of it. I like 360's. I watch them 90% of the time. But this seems like the conflicts were done INTENTIONALLY to make fans choose. And whether a 410 fan or 360 fan or fan of whatever else.........from even an un-biased standpoint - doesn't really seem right. But that ain;t at all where I take issue with it - I'm lookin at this just as an overall fan of sprint car racing. I just think it's best for the fans when - at least when it comes to some of the bigger races (at least) - they don't have to choose.

The only time I've ever been aware of the allstars not scheduling against another sanctioning is body is when the WoO is in the Ohio area. They do this because the majority of the allstar drivers are from this area and it gives those drivers the opportunity to race for more money on their home turf. Everyone bitches and moans that the allstar schedule has been lacking over the last few years but when something like this occurs everyone bitches about that. You can't have it both ways.

As far as the Belleville Midget Nationals, I think we have ran the same weekend as the 360 Nationals before. It all depends on how the Calender year dates fall. We try to keep our dates as close to the last weekend in July and sometime that falls into the first of August because of how the dates fall in the Calender each year. Like in the next few years our dates will move more into the month of July again......and will be off the 360 Nationals again.

Belleville Midget Nationals future dates :

Aug 1-2, 2008
July 31-Aug 1, 2009
July 30-31, 2010
July 29-30, 2011
July 28-29, 2012

Powerslave - you hit the nail on the head.

Nothing intentional is going on here, so put your conspiracy theory away. We don't schedule races to hurt the 360's or to split up the fans who have to make a choice. We schedule races when the dates are available at the tracks wishing to host an All Star event. Most times those dates are decided by the track promoters - not the All Stars. As far as FL goes, I don't see anything wrong with adding extra days for our drivers to grab a few extra dollars for making the trip that far south. Sorry if you have to choose, but the last time I checked, nobody bothers to look at the All Star schedule before scheduling their 360 races either.

I agree about having it both ways. But I never have bitched bout their schedule. And I see what Marty is saying about Belleville. And I'm not saying thats a problem. Just funny that there hasn't been a recent conflict - but add the All-Stars to thursday night - and what do ya know?

And Swamp - I'm actually suprised that given the topic here you didn't fly off at me there. which is cool. I'm not saying there is a giant conspiracy theory. Just think that more effort should be made to not have schedule conflicts. and yes I know that goes both ways.................

I just saw how the schedules worked out the last couple years and thought I could see Belleville and Knoxville 360's while avoiding the last 6 410 Iowa races. Belleville woulda been really possible for us in OKC - but can't miss the 360 Nationals.

Marty your post makes a lot of sense. thanks for shedding more light on that.

OKC - fortunately I took my medication before posting. LOL. I hate the idea of splitting of fans making them choose between two races anywhere at any time, but sometimes it just happens and not all events can be coordinated. We had Fremont schedule a big race on top of our Hoosier Fall Classic last season if you remember and I was the one raising the most hell about it...but both races went on and both were packed and both were successful with happy track promoters. So I guess it wasn't the end of the world after all. Sorry you won't make the Belleville race because that will be a great night for sure.
