Pretty cool opportunity for Brownie and in some damn good equipment. Hopefully he can show the NASCAR boys the way around Knoxville.

Odd that Kyle Busch doesn't depend on Hoseheads message board for driver reccomendations. What's up with that?

good for him! It's nice to see how many dirt guys are getting opportunities to race at the Nascar level this year.

What fantastic insight. How many guys can show the WoO boys around the place at the Nationals?

Great for Brian.  It would be awesome for him to get the win.

Good luck to Brownie, it really sounds like a win/ win for everyone involved, the sponsors, the driver, the owner, and the race track. Good news for a lot of people except the haters.

I like Brownie just because so few here do.

I've never met him but all the press aside from HH seems to indicate he's a decent driver, decent business owner and decent family man. I'm sure he has a few problems like everyone does but the fact that he hasn't won the Nationals doesnt really bother me. I may watch this race simpy cause he is in it.

Even though I may not know you, I

The reason there are so many comments on here about Brown not winning the Nationals is because of how delusional the Knoxville regulars were on here. Year after year, Brown would throttle the weekly Knoxville field and there would be posts on here that the Outlaws had better up their game if they want to beat Brownie at the Nationals And then, like clockwork, the Outlaws would somehow "up their game" and beat Brown at the Nationals every year.

How many local drivers, that own their own team, that have a local sponsor, parlay that into a nascar ride? Pretty much nobody. I think that's pretty cool and I'll be cheering for him. I'll also continue to shop at Casey's and support those that support racing.

He did get second to Schatz twice I believe in both of their racing career primes. Heck he about got it done passing Donny with less than ten laps to go. People write this off like it means nothing and like any driver can do that but I guess the saying goes "if your not first your last."

Excellent point.   I think it was lap 44 that year that he passed Donny and led a couple of laps late in the Nationals.

Some guys race their whole carrer and rarely crack a top 5 or are shikled tickless when they are top 10. I just don't get all the negativity on Brown in this forum! He is not arrogant, he dont come off as an A-hole to fans, He has always 100% been great with my kids & grandkids when approached at the track. He seems to love everything about the race scene... I just dont get it!!!   I am a fan, but I'm by no means a die hard BB fan but I sure do respect the guy as a racer and as a person.

Brown isnt my favorite driver nor is he my least favorite.  But damn the hate he gets on here is crazy.  Is he a dirty driver?  doesnt seem to be.  Is he a arrogant a hole?  nope doesnt seem to be.  Weird

I wonder how much sleep Brown has lost thinking about HH posters opinions of him..NONE Id bet.

I think it is only maybe 2-3 people that have some sort of weird hatred for Brown for some reason. As you said he is not really dirty or arrogant so I guess it could be a few things. 1 being its personal, maybe he didn't immediately give an autograph or sit there and have a heart to heart conversation with these people. 2 They might be Knoxville regulars and do not like the fact that he wins there a lot. 3 They did like him and really wanted him to win the Nationals but since he hasn't they view it as the hometown favorite could not win the big one so he has let them down.

As for the 3rd, as some have mentioned years ago there were people on here talking about that certain year would be the year that Brian Brown won the Nationals but I do not remember Brian Brown really saying that he would. Just that it was his dream as it is for a lot of drivers. He did come close 2-3 times so it is not like he was finishing midpack. I think some just decided to not like him because certain other fans liked him.
