I was checking out the World of Outlaws point standings today and noticed Bill Rose is currently 20th in WOO points having entered all 13 events so far.  I don't recall seeing Bill at any of the shows thus far, let alone all 13 of them.  How is this possible?

Someone else asked about this recently.  If they are not able to compete for an extraneous reason, WoO platinum members are given a small level of hardship points for each event that the series completes.  James McFadden most likely received the same treatement at the beginning of the season while in Australia waiting for his child to be born.  The practice goes back at least a couple of decades, as I recall Danny Lasoski receiving hardship points when he was injured driving for TSR.

Thank you for explaining.  I was unaware Bill was injured and not racing.  McFadden is only credited with attending 7 events and Kasey Kahne with the other 6.  Does anyone know why they are scored differently?

McFadden was still being awarded "show up" points as he could not get into the country without waiting for quarantine after the birth of his child, but they still ran the KKR 9 with Kasey for Owner's Championship points. I'm sure if Bill had someone running his car, they would follow suit, but in reality, that 6 car probably wouldn't have made much if any of the shows so far.
