I was curious of why David left the 41 car for the 2 car? It seems like the 41 team was very successful last year and I even watching David's Youtube videos. Also, is the 2 car also owned by the new Huset's Speedway owner? Was David planning on also racing Nascar? David is a great driver and I hope he has a great year in the new car!

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

I think the simple answer is FUNDING. Todd Quiring used to own Big Game Treestands and sold the company a year or two ago, He currently owns Killer Instinct Cross Bows, in addition to The Jackson Motorplex and Huset's Speedway along with numerous other commercial properties. I think Gravel was looking long term at his career, after his NASCAR truck deal went away. JJR was at a crossroads with Bobbi Johnson selling part of the team to Phillip Dietz and his wife. Gravel brought some sponsorship to the #41, but not like Carson Macedo who is bringing his Tarlton & Son and Complete Parts & Equipment Solutions sponsorhips to the team, which I would imagine is significant to help keep the team fully funded.

This is spot on from what I've heard as well. Lets just all be relieved people like Quiring are still involved in sprint car racing and he can give Gravel a good ride.

I think David Gravel talked about this in one of his videos. I think it has more do with being able to run other races. JJR wants a full-time driver committed to the tour. If anything NASCAR pops up this year for Gravel, the #2 team would let him go race that instead.

Probably because Gravel could've had a championship with JJR if he would've stayed those few races last year.

Yes, I agree.  Both rides are SOLID.

Gravel could not personally bring the backign to JJR that Macedo could.  My opinion...JJR chooses financially to not run an organization that is more fully funded.  They did not give PPM the ride, despite whatever backing he had.  When Macedo became available after KLR closing, and Macedo had backing, then JJR made that business move.

Gravel can wheel a car.  I'm excited to see what he does.  I'm suprised that Quiring's car only has Huset's and Jackson as sponsorship.  I feel that means he's investing a lot out of his own pocket rather than having other companies investing...like KI or Big Game or Mudddy.  that worries me.   But I'm happy to see Gravel in with a solid team and full time with the Outlaws.  He is so goood...he is a title contender.

Just my thoughts.

what a jackoff comment.  The results on those programs are no where near each other.  The 41 team has had one of the best programs for the last few years and the 2 has been nothing special.  Im sure with Gravel going to the 2 car it will be way better but thats just a driver change.

Seems to me that Brad, Donny and Logan are being considered the "big 3" and the "title contenders", while DG is getting left out of the conversation.  Kinda baffling if ya ask me.

If Gravel runs the hole tour and doesn't venture into nascrap land he will be a contender for the title this year. I think you may see one of the most competitive seasons on the woo tour this year. Sweet, Logan, Gravel and if Shatz has Ricky Warner back for a full season he is going to be your 2021 champion.

The  big 3 are Schatz, Warner and Ford. Keep them together and the competitive portion is for 2nd place.

Yes, I meant keep the Ford together...

Gravel is just not on that level that those 3 are and I really dont think he will be. The 2 car is an excellent ride but I think gravel actually stepped a slight notch down because I think Phil is a really good crew chief and I think that make the 41 just a tick better ride between the two. Gravel still has some inconsistent nights in really good cars he may progress as he gets more experience but not sure hes will be in donny and Brad's league

Are we talking about the same DAVID GRAVEL that Legitimately Won the Knoxville Nationals?

I could buy that Gravel is a tick below Sweet and Schatz, but to say he's not on the level of Schuchart ignores almost every metric. Gravel has more wins, has won Knoxville, has won the National Open twice and dominates Williams Grove.

Really only talking on a basis of woo championship  contention. I'd take logan over him in that aspect.

I kinda got the impression that he went to the 2 because he was able to get a little more money based on the comments from all parties. Does not seem like people of the teams are crying about it so I am not sure why others are too. As far as where he ranks among drivers I would say he is championship contender for sure. To me Brad and Donny are probably just a tiny tick about everyone else, then I would say it is David and Logan neck and neck not far off. A far as "Big 3 Drivers," that is all marketing so I do not put much weight on it. As far as the 41 vs the 2, I think Gravel may have taken a step down not necessarily in equipment but simply from the Philip Deitz factor. I think he is heavily under-rated even after the success they have had as a crew chief. I think if you put him in any equipment with either Brad, Donny, Logan, or David they have a strong possiblity of winning the title. The bigger "Big 3" to me is  Ricky Warner (if full time), Eric Prutzman, and Philip Deitz.

That baffles me also!! Had Gravel not run those nascar races he definitely would of been 2nd in points with a small possibility

of being first. Gravel and Dietz were a great team together
