AUSTIN LIGGETT GOES WIRE-TO-WIRE AT PETALUMA
PETALUMA, CA – AUGUST 8, 2020… Starting second, Austin Liggett (Laton, CA) led all 30-laps to score the non-point USAC West Coast Sprint Car victory at Petaluma Speedway. Racing the family owned #83 Excel Environmental Services / Liggett Trucking Maxim, the 2018 champion shook free from the competition to earn the twelfth series win of his career. Fast qualifier Colby Johnson, “BT Express” Bradley Terrell, “Wild” Billy Aton, and “Hollywood” Danny Faria Jr. followed Liggett to the checkered flags.
Johnson earned his first career Woodland Auto Display Fast Time Award with a time of 14.548 over the 13-car roster. The young driver also scored the night’s Rod End Supply Hard Charger Award / Best Passing Job honors with a second place run from sixth.
The heat race victories were claimed by Aton (Extreme Mufflers First Heat), and Liggett (Sway-A-Way Torsion Bars Second Heat).
On September 12th, the traditional 360 sprints will return to Petaluma Speedway for another special non-points event. The race will be broadcast live at floracing.com.
