So what did Michael Faccinto say at Chili Bowl that made his team pull him out?

I was watching on RB, but totally missed that part....

He dropped the "N" word. I have seen the video posted a few different places on twitter, and was shocked that he said it, and even more suprised at the people who defended him. Mistakes will happen, but the way it was said, no way was it a one off deal.

I agree in with this 99% of the time but in this case, no. That word has no place in society today & just shows the stupidity of some when they say it. Everyone is taught at a young age not to say it & knows the history. I have 0 sympathy for anyone who gets in trouble, loses a job, or gets an ass whipping for using it

Early runner for not only worst post of 2020, but worst post of the decade.

You have to be a special kind of dumb to think that it is remotely OK to be dropping slurs like that. But hur durrrr durrr triggered snowflake, etc., amirite?

This isn't a joking matter. Right there in Tulsa, almost 100 years ago: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulsa_race_riot#Casualties

From the article : "The Tulsa race riot (also called the Tulsa massacre, Greenwood Massacre, or the Black Wall Street Massacre) of 1921[9][10][11][12][13][14] took place on May 31 and June 1, 1921, when mobs of white residents attacked black residents and businesses of the Greenwood District in Tulsa, Oklahoma.[1] It has been called "the single worst incident of racial violence in American history."[15] The attack, carried out on the ground and from private aircraft, destroyed more than 35 square blocks of the district – at that time the wealthiest black community in the United States, known as "Black Wall Street"

"On June 1, 1921, the Tulsa Tribune reported that nine white people and 68 black people had died in the riot, but shortly afterwards it changed this number to a total of 176 dead. The next day, the same paper reported the count as nine white people and 21 black people."'

There are hundreds of other words Faccinto could have used.. "He screwed me" etc.

DUMB

To be clear, he didn't call anyone the n word, but used it as a verb (I think, grammar was never my specialty). Not acceptable under any circumstance, but less appalling.

I cant comment on his interview because i never saw it but earlier this year in rhe Czech Republic the Canadian hockey captain left his helmet on during the Russian anthem after Canada lost to Russia.

So now its a team sport with national patriotism. The hockey player had 3 minutes to fix his mistake, he had 20 team mates who could have and likely did remind him of his error. Your race driver said one word in a live interview probably in the excitement of his win which he can never take back.

The hockey player flipped out a tweet and its all good, goes on to score and win gold. Im not justifying racial slurs but one person had an opportunity to fix his mistake but didnt, the other didnt have time because it was live and instant.

The hockey player is now a national hero and Faccinto is probably hard up for another sponsor.

Weird how that all works, too bad the world couldn't factor in the kids real everyday character and opinion of other people to know the intent.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I did see it and the way it came out of his mouth , it is apparent that it is part of his character. Subconscious or not, it was obvious.

There is no justification, no defense, no comparison, no grey area for it. Don't say the word, its pretty simple. Doesn't matter what emotional state you are in, and it doesn't matter if it is a lapse of judgement. We are all taught at an early age not to say somethings and when people do say it, that shows the measure of their character. Sorry, not sorry that some things that are said & done can hurt reputations. I knew someone that had always treated me nice & felt was a great individual. Then one night he beat his wife to the point it fractured her eye socket. All that good is for not when you do something stupid. If you don't want people to think you are racist and/or stupid, don't say racist and/or stupid things. Grade school children can figure this out, adults young and old should be able too.

One must be a man of color to be able to use the word as a noun or verb. Then it is socially acceptable.

Should have used "I got crackered" instead, thats acceptable.

Until they don't use it in rap music or say it on the south side of Chicago don't cry when its used by others. Faccinto shouldn't have used it but the overreaction is no surprise. Thats how this triggered society is today.
