Here is a bit of a tidbit for the May 1, 2020 WoO NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars. This will be the series first visit to the Edwards facility since 1985.

Sammy set the Lawton WoO mark of 12.50 on June 25, 1983. When the USA visited in April 1989, Mark Kinser lowered the record to 12.41.

As posted above, the WoO NOS Energy Sprint Cars will make their first appearance since 1985 at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Oklahoma on Friday night, May 1, 2020.

The next night the series will head to Devils Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas for a Saturday night, May 2, 2020 event.

This will be the ninth event the quarter mile, red-clay oval has hosted a WoO sprint car event. Past feature winners include:

June 22, 1985 - Sammy Swindell
June 23, 1984 - Jeff Swindell
June 25, 1983 - Steve Kinser
June 26, 1982 - Steve Kinser
June 27, 1981 - Sammy Swindell
June 28, 1980 - Steve Kinser
Sept. 19, 1978 - Rick Ferkel
Sept. 21, 1978 - Sammy Swindell

The last time 410-ci sprint car competed at Lawton Speedway was on July 3, 1994 when the NCRA Outlaw sprint car division competed there and it was Mike Peters taking the victory.

Other drivers picking up victories in 410 action at Lawton Speedway in non WoO action include: Terry Gray (3), Chris McDermott, Ronnie Daniels, Sammy Swindell, Tommie Estes, Jr. and Shane Carson.

Will post advanced ticket information as it becomes finalized.
