aka Buddy. Anyone have any thoughts on a 16 year old kid beating the All Stars on one of their "home tracks". A kid with no real racing pedigree eg; Scelzi, Kaeding, etc... out from Ca. trying to make a name for himself. Looking for input from someone who has seen him race in Ohio or thereabouts recently in these races, which, from what I've read, he's been up front with a shot to win in most of them. Watched him out here in Ca. mature into an aggressive but clean racer. Cant wait to see how he does at the biggest race of the year, assuming he'll be there. Big things to come for Buddy

He ran well with the Outlaws a few times this year if I remember right. Can't remember where they were, but watched on DirtVision. I am not from the Ohio area (up in the Pacific Northwest), but I did watch him run a handful of times in the Pac Northwest, and did very well, especially in Doug Rutz's 8R. I hope he has plenty more wins and great runs throughout the year.

Yeah i know he wore them out, in New Zealand as well. Kiwi racers were probably glad to see him leave, maybe not the fans. There were only a handful of occasions we were treated to a race with Buddy, Gio, Macedo, as well as several other of our young guns all on the track together, it was fun to watch.

We have been watching Buddy race here locally in CA since he was about 14 years old and he reminds me of a younger Kyle Larson! No matter what car he drives he can win races! Same can be said about Gio Scelzi and he is also from CA and about the same age. There is no dought that drivers who get their start here in California, racing at a young age, go onto to do great things racing all over the country! The list is getting too long to even write. It's bittersweet because I enjoy watching them at our local tracks, but very proud when they go on and do great things and win races against the best in the country at different tracks! The best racers usually come from the best racing regions and in my opinion it is California, Ohio, Iowa, Indiana, and Pennsylvania!

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Winged sprintcars = the fastest and most exciting

To my knowledge his legal name is Michael but goes by Buddy. I would guess Buddy has been the handle for so much of his life it has replaced his legal name for everything unofficial.

Even though I may not know you, I

His name is Michael "Buddy" Kofoid & everything Sprintcar Kelly said is my sentiments exactly: Buddy wins in any car he runs, reminds us of Kyle, Gio is equally impressive, & we hate to see our young stars leave, yet they make us so proud. I stated previously in asking Buddy about future aspirations, he mentioned Indycar racing first, so we'll see if that holds up. Pretty sure whatever he chooses, he's going to shine

Buddy is probably the best driver/car right now in Ohio. Leading Fremont & AFCS points and currently 4th at Attica. He’s nearly always in the top 5 barring any mechanical issues. He’s got a ton of poise as well to recover when he does make mistakes, which many kids that age and even veterans struggle to do.

Why go to Knoxville when you can't get the motors to run at Eldora.
