A week ago today a sprint car was testing at Red River Valley Speedway.  I didn't see it, just heard about it.  I'd guess it was Schatz/Stewart, as they can afford to rent tracks and of course Schatz flies back to Fargo from the previous night's race and he lives in Fargo.  Anyone know what it might cost to rent a track for 3 or 4 hours?  I was told it was definitely just one car.  And I suppose you have to pay for an Ambulance and Fire Crew to be on site during the test, adding to the cost.  And Sunday was the day after his 15th place finish on Saturday night after starting 21st.  For most anyone else, they'd be happy with the year Donny has had but they ain't Donny Schatz.

Also, does he miss Ricky Warner?

for most tracks it probably doesnt cost near as much as you would think.  When i worked on late models, we would test twice a month at a local track. sometimes we would test on sundays if we made it back to the shop from the previous saturday night.  with that the track was how it was after they raced saturday night, and basically we had a wrecker guy there that we would shoot a case of beer to be there in case car need to be towed back.  if we tested on a prepared track we would pay the guy who prepares the track a couple of hundred dollars to get it ready and go from there. i cant recall ever having ems there.  you have to remeber testing and dirt track racing when it comes to ems is still very primitave. most of the time it is just a couple of cars and the likely hood of a severe crash is a lot less.

This is from 4 years ago but it should give you an idea.     Susquehanna Speedway Rentail Fees from 2015  (not the current ownership) were as follows:

Fee is $1,500.00 for 4 hours and may be split between a maximum of five-(5) drivers/teams.  Only one car is permitted on the track at a time.  If an ambulance is requested, it is an additional $75.00 per hour.  For nighttime rentals, an additional $100.00 per hour will be charged for lights.

.

our local track charges $2500 for 4 hours.

they prep the track like they would for a regular show

if you want to rent it by yourself you can or you can get others to split the cost
