Rodd Hanna, owner of has a 20+ year friendship and business relationship with the Brotherton family, owners of and between all of them they’ve been great supporters of sprint car racing throughout the years. They’ve also collaborated on R&D with Rodd’s sprint car, that has primarily been driven by Pete Butler.

Rodd and Pete picked up the Short Track Nationals championship at I-30 Speedway in 1996. Rodd’s car has been side-lined recently while Pete has been recovering from some racing, and non-racing related injuries. Rodd is unsure at the time of writing if his car will compete in this event…but we will keep you posted.

Rodd Hanna's Air Performance opened in Rockwall, Texas in January 1993 with a goal to provide DFW residents with personalized, quality air conditioning and heating services - at a fair price. They have since served thousands of households, including many commercial accounts. They are also a proud sponsor of the Sprint Car Bandits series. Click to visit them online.

Paula and J.V. Brotherton started the business officially known as “BRODIX” in 1979. Along the way they had two sons, Jeff and Greg, and a daughter, Jennifer. Today Paula, Jeff, Greg, and Jennifer have evolved into the driving forces. BRODIX has enjoyed many successes over the years in every form of auto racing. Many, many records, championships and titles have been won with BRODIX products. With the blend of old and new ideas, the future looks bright. Continuous research and development is a way of life at BRODIX. Go to for more details and product information.

Superbowl Speedway is located at 437 FM 1903 Greenville, TX and is quite easy to get to. The main entrance is first and is for race fans going to the stands. The second exit off of corner 4 is for the pit entrance.

On race day, the track phone number is (903) 883-2504 or click for the track Facebook page. The first green flag on Saturday June 9th is slated for 8pm. Superbowl Speedway divisions will round out the full night of racing.

35-lap SCB feature race base payback for Saturday, June 9th: $1,800 (includes $600 cash from BRODIX…plus $200 from Air Performance for leading lap 35, technically making it $2,000 to win), $1,000 (including $200 from Air Performance), $600, $500, $400, $390, $380 (Plus $100 from Always Towing), $370, $360, $350, $340, $330, $320, $310, $300, $300, $300, $300, $300, $300. $100 for non-qualifiers or non-starters. No entry fee or series membership fee; $15 draw-in fee.

All drivers make sure to read/adhere to the posted rules at the series website prior to heading to the track.

The SCB series has a unique rules package that allows teams to use their current equipment (especially in the engine compartment), yet curbing nightly tire expense...which helps equalize the competition, with teams of varying budget sizes.

That rules package certainly has the vote of many of the drivers in the region, as thus far, 74 have competed with the series in the first seven events of 2018. Series rules are posted at the link above and will be followed at each SCB event, so make sure your car is compliant before arriving at the track.

Between the lower operating cost of the SCB series and the addition of sponsor funds into nightly purses, it is allowing more area race tracks to book events - which all translates into DFW area fans getting to see quality sprint car race at a lower grandstand ticket price.

When you combine those components with lower nightly competitor operating purses, it all equals one thing: the new Sprint Car Bandits series!

Click or go to @SprintCarBandits on Facebook for the latest in series news - including the event flyer for Superbowl Speedway on June 9th, Golden Triangle Raceway Park on the following Saturday, June 16th, and Kennedale Speedway Park on June 23rd. And be watching for new event flyers later this week for Heart o’ Texas (June 22nd) and LoneStar Speedway (June 30th)…it’s a busy month for the Sprint Car Bandits series, we hope you can catch as many exciting events as you can!

Sprint Car Bandits Quick Results/Recap from the Air Performance 35 presented by Brodix, Inc.:

Michael Lang was your high point driver after starting 6th in his heat and taking an impressive win.

Bryan Debrick was 2nd highest after running away with his heat and would bring out the red flag on lap one of the feature after hooking the cushion and rolling 3 or 4 times.

Then Brittney Bryant would bring out the yellow and at the same time Brad Queen would flip on the other end of the track.

Queen would resume the race, sans the top wing.

Then it got crazy.

Around lap 11, the leaders went into corner 1 FOUR WIDE and Michael Day pulled a slider to split the two cars of Wester and Jason Howell, but clipped the 14 car of Michael Lang on the high side sending Lang flipping end over end.

A brief scuffle ensued ( first one in the 3 year history of the SCB), and due to a crew member fighting, Day would get DQ’d.

The race resumed with a persistent Jason Howell taking the lead around lap 29, then 10th place starter Kyle Jones would take over the point after racing with Howell, and would hold on to take the huge win.

Oh, and Brad Queen would finish WITH his wing. After the 3rd red flag, he was able to get one mounted and finish the remaining laps with it - talk about persistence! Great job hanging in there!

Jones collected $2,900 for his feature win, which was his first in SCB competition.

And the winner didn't have to pay an association fee, sanctioning body fee, license; etc. Just a $15 draw fee and pit passes, and that was it!

Complete results are shown in the picture below in the middle column.

The first column shows the amount of cars each driver advanced.

Claud Estes III would pass 10 cars to accept the #SweetZoeJane Hard Charger Award put up by Factory Stock driver Derrick Hensley.

Three drivers advanced 9 spots and three more drivers advanced 8 spots!

The crowd went wild at this dramatic and ultra-competitive event, and we are proud at the Sprint Car Bandits to have put this event together with the help of our primary sponsors and

Thank you also to the teams that put up an additional $1,150, for a total of $3,300 in added money.

Complete results and points will be posted in the days to come and join us for our next SCB event at Golden Triangle Speedway west of Beaumont next Saturday June 16.

Complete event details are posted at and on Facebook at SprintCarBandits. Go to these links to see the pictures referenced in this post.

Thanks to Mike Petty Photo for being on hand to capture photos - of which, will be posted in the days to come.
