Huh. Interesting. I thought NSL had folded? Is that just the creator's way of ranking the Jackson/Knoxville crowd?

What are your criteria for your rating system?

I've included NSL because at the time I started this rating system they were still active.  That rating is based on only NSL sanctioned shows.  I will be removing the NSL rating from this list soon.

>What are your criteria for your rating system?

I've creating a computer generated driver rating system based on driver results (http://www.blumberglegalforms.com/blazer3/Racing/Ratings.html), including wins, money won, average finish, etc.  Along with that, I rate the races themselves (http://www.blumberglegalforms.com/blazer3/Racing/RaceRatings_20170531.html), based on purse and what drivers (their ratings) are at that race.

You don't even have the FAST series listed which in my opinion woud be around 5th with Byron Reed, DJ Foos, and Chris Andrews. Take Kemenah out as an All Star regular and those three are as good as anyone All Star has following them.

WoO, Knoxville then, ummm.. probably Posse then All Stars.  Follow-up: where would, say CA or OH fit in this mix?  LOTS of young talent in CA, but CA is 360 heavy.  OH has some serious talent and is underrated.

All Stars are just way too young this year and a bit top heavy with Kemenah then probably Ryan Smith, both Calebs and although not a member Shaffer.

Posse's having a bit of a weird year.  Lucas has been fast all year but is finally getting results, but it's been recently and not consistently (winning I mean), quite yet.  DD's been there all year.  Hodnett's been off pace (though did win recently).  Dream Team is part time (as they were last year).  Freddie's been fast at WG, but not at Lincoln.  A lot of parity it seems with Posse this year (that's a good thing too though).

Anyway you slice all of this, in my opinion we're lucky to have so many regions with such deep talent and we definitively have maybe the highest number of "young talent" sprint car raicng has seen.  Let's argue all we want about this, but bottom line is we're lucky.

Yeah, I know.  When that series first started, they were just a seperate point fund between just Attica and Frement races, and not really a 'series'.  And as far as I know, I don't think the purse for those races at those tracks change for a 'FAST' race to make them special (I could be wrong on that, but I never see anything from thier web sites to say its any different).

But just recently, they have been going to other tracks, so I have been thinking of adding them as a seperate series rating.

What is the formula you type into the computer to create this rating.

It's a mathematical formula that I've spend a lot of time developing, so the exact details are not something I would just hand out, but a simple breakdown is...
    --                     20% money
    --                     30% wins
    --                     50% avg finish

...and each of those are broken down further more where money won, wins and avg finish in 'higher' rated races are weighted more.

Currently it is LARSON ahead of everybod,y ,WOO Midwest Posse All Stars and Ohio are all about the same only decider is what track they..are at.

Would be great to see Larson win a big race like Knoxville or the Kings Royal that would give the guys on Sunday a chance to mention something good about sprint cars.

And to break that stat down a bit........4 WoO drivers account for 22 of those wins, and 3 WoO drivers account for the remaining 3 wins. Kinser and Schatz have 15 of the wins in the period you mention, so I'm not sure it's all just series domination so much as it is select driver domination. Previous to that, and right in the middle of Kinser's domination, Wolfgang won 3 Nationals while not running the WoO Series, and Bobby Allen won one while not a WoO driver. No doubt the WoO have the cream of the crop. The WoO series has been dominated by only a few drivers, and so have the Knoxville Nationals, which is as it should be. The best are simply the best, and in sprint car racing over the years ( even further back than you mention), only a few have been the very best at any given time. The rest win now and then......so I tend to give credit to the drivers and teams when it comes to domination, rather than any series.

Oh and my order.........WoO #1.......Knoxville-Jackson (as one) and Posse (tie for 2nd) and then the All Stars. The Knoxville and Posse areas have great, good and fair years as a whole. So that changes often. The All Stars is a great series and offers entertaining races, but get beat up bad by the Outlaws, and struggle against the top drivers in the Midwest (though seldom race against them) and also struggle when they go to Posse land.   jmo of course

I would say some more credit has to be given to California/West.

Brad Sweet

Paul McMahan

Carson Macedo

Kyle Hirst

Rico Abreu

Kyle Larson

Tim Kaeding

etc.

That is a pretty solid group, put them up against the 7 best from PA or from Knoxville area (including Outlaws from that area) and it will definitely be a race.

Thanks,

Jeff.

The Ohio regulars are probably a stronger group than the All stars are currently.

I'd debate the Ohio vs California 410s all day. A lot of the Cali guys come out to race in Ohio for a reason (Abreu, Macedo). Ohio has a lot more 410s too. My personal one would be... WoO, Midwest (Knoxville & Dakotas), Posse (at half miles), All Stars, Ohio, Posse (at short tracks), California, the others.

Outlaws from the Midwest area could include Donny Scahtz.....so I think you're borrowing from the Outlaws, NASCAR etc is beyond what the original post was asking for....
