Obviously we have the same "favorite" driver... guess now he should of stayed in the #2 car. Wonder if he wI'll go back to his own program again? Although he has nothing left as far as I know...

Does he still have that property with the shop just south of Princeton or did they sell that place?

I'm fairly confident they sold that property

I believe you will see him in that 49 car he ran toward the end of the season. I know they had talked about doing some more  races this year when they hooked up last year for Williams Grove and the World Finals

Saw a post over the winter that Doug Esh was going to run the 49x when not ronning the 07 for Coldren, remember things did not go well at the Grove or Port and Esh drove at the World Finals.

Was a rumor that he was very close to working a deal with Leddig 59 and Highlands3 but now it looks like Ryan Smith got that deal with 59/94 COMBO.

These older drivers don't seem to understand the era we're living in.  Paid rides are few and far between.  If you have one you need to keep it, otherwise you'll be a spectator.  Hope he finds something but he created this situtation.

And it is not like he won a bunch last year either. He always ran solid but nothing crazy

I wasn't under the impression he created the situation. Sounds like it was more of the TKS team or a mutual decsion if any. Something tells me the TKS team was looking for new up and coming talent which Austin clearly is and one has to wonder if the deal possibly included some added sponsors or money from the McCarls coming on board to make a full race season more feasible for the team.

Craig's situation actually started back when he left the Big Game team. He didn't want to run the proposed schedule of the then new NSL, Jackson, Knoxville and select WoO shows that Tod Quiring wanted the team to run. Instead, he wanted to stay full time WoO, so he jumped on board with the Destiny #7 to stay on tour....how'd that work out?!  Then a jump to Roth, which didn't work out either. After two seasons with the TKS team they were getting pretty good, but again, it appears as though Craig was looking for greener pastures. I think his intent to leave caught the TKS team by surprise. One thing does remain a fact.....Craig Dollansky has not forgotten how to drive a sprint car. But in todays sprint car world the good rides are far and few in between, and getting more scarce each year. Meanwhile the older drivers, regardless how good, aren't able to attract new blood in the form of big sponsorships to bring to the table of a team. A helmet bag isn't near enough. Ask Lasoski! He was let go and Big Game brought Madsen on board. It can be argued all day as to who can do the better job, but Madsen brought with him an engine program that is worth a lot of dollars. Lasoski didn't have that to offer.

What I read said Craig wanted to race more.  Which I understand, the only way too make more money is to race more.  He should have tried to find a ride to supplement what he had.  Shane Stewart showed how it needs to be done now adays when you don't have an elite ride.  The paid rides that want to race 100 times a year all over the country are almost gone.

Quality rides for drivers over 50 are hard to come by.Craig is a very good driver but doesnt have the fan support of Sammy or Jac who seem to still be able to get rides.Sometimes its better to stay where you are wanted as they were getting pretty good in the 2KS car.Ownership of a race car usually isnt a profitable venture thats why sponsorship and clothing sales are so important to many drivers.and their teams to survive. The motor program alone for a front running can be well over $200K+ some higher.Compared to NASCAR where an second tier teams are reported to have $20 million budgets  but they get good money to start and park but what fun would that be? IHope he can find something.

He may get back in the 2 car after mcarl get fired cause that's not going to last.only got the ride cause know one else wanted it. I was told just mcarl and one other driver called Troy after dollansky was done.and the other guy had no money to bring? Bad deal when you got bring money to a 2nd class ride. But they didn't like droud Jr.,so Austin don't got a chance.so I was told dollansky was putting his own deal back together so look for him to be ready around real race time.but if wrong sure mcarl will not last long so still hope for the 2 car.
