DIRT Motorsports will announce its series title partner Thursday afternoon at the PRI. I believe a news conference has been set for 2:30pm.

Good news!
SprintCar & Midget: When USA was formed in '89 and guys like Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell and Dave Blaney left the World of Outlaws, did you take it personally?
Ted Johnson: Not really. I thought it was a business deal. I didn't have any illusions. People thought they knew something they didn't know. But I knew. And this is the first time I ever said this, but USA set us back about four years. We would've had a seven or eight year run with the Nashville Network, and a good, key sponsor like we had for four years with Pennzoil. It could've been eight years.
They don't even know how to spell sprint car

Editorial from SCD...
Dirt the new 'Dream Team'? Andre Weich 13.DEC.06
Dirt Motorports will announce details of its World of Outlaws Sprint Series title sponsor on Thursday, December 14 at 3.30pm at the PRI show in Orlando.
What is a title sponsor you may ask? Also known as "naming rights sponsor" it is generally the highest level of corporate sponsorhip a series can have. Think no further than Nextel, Busch etc. So you can expect the sponsors name to be pre-fixed to the series title, for example were Budweiser to be the sponsor, it most likely will read "The Budweiser World of Outlaws Series".
The significance of this cannot be over stated, as the World of Outlaws and many other Sprint car series have not had the major corporate backers in recent years. Who the sponsor is will be known tomorrow. The extent of their sponsorhip may not be known, but it is likely to be a substantial investment. Title sponsorhip for a major series does not come cheap.
This, along with the ESPN and Speed deals announced earlier this year, and the continued expansion and improvement of Dirtvision's cybercasting services are landmark achievements for the new management team at Dirt Motorpsort.
With a bulging '07 schedule of events, an all new website, a brand new seaon finale double header with World of Outlaws Late Models, a full-house of contracted drivers stretching the Mean 15 to closer to 20, and no doubt a band of non-contracted "Outlaw Raiders" hunting them down at every opportunity, and you would have to say the future is suddenly looking brighter.
Brighter not only Dirt Motorsports, but also for the entire beleagured 410 winged class.
Incredible, considering the tough circumstances this team found themselves in, less than a year ago when they first assembled.
I am suddenly reminded of words spoken only 24 hours earlier by respected auto racing writer Dave Argabright, "sometimes a sport needs a dictator for its own good..."
I suspect what Argabright really meant was that in the event of an industry being so incapacited by an absence of organised leadership, it would be for the better to have a self-appointed, strong leader step up and take charge. In other words provide direction and leadership to leaderless flock!
I think we once again have that kind of leadership...

Hawker, bud, we are not talking gay marriage "partner"...
Folks, he means as in a partner to maybe buy the series. A group that is just not a "Partner = sponsor" Hawker is talking a "Partner = investor"
I have had a few shots and I still even knew what he meant by 'partner'. With the stuff that has been going on you can't help go past the possible chance of partner is investor. It is a play of words. Title parter 'buys 50% of WoO series' I said it once...."DIRT owns many things, they won't go broke. They will sell parts of DIRT off to keep from going broke." If DIRT can sell off 20 million of it's 55 million debt to a company, or one person, then I am sure they would. I would not blame them for so. Just hope it will be 'someday' to a worthy owner.
IT can be MAYBE...totally NOT true and from my butt...just as an example..... Casey's buys the Title Sponsor. Which can be = to the title partner in Don.
You never know, I bet I am just looking too far into words. However, that does not mean that it would not be a pretty good move to have Don as owner of WoO. Can't be worse than DIRT..?

Just a wild guess on my part but with all the attention the WoO sprints and late models are getting all of a sudden with Lowes, Bruton Smith, and Roger Slack could there be a connection to the series "Partner" in that group of names??????
Who knows??? Guess we'll see this afternoon.............................

I thought you had to wear glasses to be in the Optimist Club. Hawks are supposed to have good eyes.
