Hope to see all of you at the Red Bluff Winter Indoor Series Outlaw Sprint Kart Races December 16th - The Gary Jacob Memorial Race Rain or shine we RACE!!!

RYAN KAPLAN will be racing a kart. He hasn't race in 4 year - so it will be great to see him out there again. Here is a little bit of info on the race.

This Saturday the Red Bluff Outlaw Dirt Sprint Kart Winter Series will honor the memory of Gary Jacob - a long time associate and important voice for the sport. The sport, with its birthplace in Red Bluff and now in its twenty-seventh year of running at the Pavilion at the Tehama District Fairgrounds, has grown to international proportions. This Saturdays race will be one of the most important events of the season which runs from October to March. With nearly $2,000.00 in additional purse money, and even more in prizes and products it promises to be one of the richest money races ever. There will be Lap Money plus a special bonus for the 5-7 year old Beginner Box Stock Division.
Dozens of sponsors have pledged a specific amount of money to be paid out to the leader of each lap during the A Main Events. So, if a driver leads a lap, they win cash. This is a similar program to the Dave Bradway Memorial Races in the Sprint Cars. Other donations include Red Bluff Outlaw Apparel and Photos for various laps and divisions.

Who was Gary Jacob?
Gary Jacob was one of the most influential personalities ever involved with spreading the word about the sport of Outlaw Dirt Sprint Karts. He passed away this past June 26 from a massive heart attack while attending a driver's meeting. For many years he tirelessly wrote news articles and stories about the races which were printed in newspapers, magazines and journals nationwide. Gary was a man who knew everything about grassroots racing, and if didn't know for sure, he would find out for you. He attended hundreds of races each year. Not only the Outlaw Karts but Sprint Cars, Stock Cars, Drag Races and more. Each week Gary would write extensive stories and articles about the races for the press. This humble and unassuming quiet man was never paid for his enormous efforts for the sport which he managed while working a full-time job. Gary was instrumental in the careers of a number of racers as well as the whole of the sport. He recognized this sport as one of the most exciting forms of racing in the world. These high-tech, high-speed winged sprint karts always put on a wild, super fast exhibition of the best dirt track racing anywhere. Racers from all over the westcoast will be flocking to this event which is expected to have nearly 200 karts competing in the 6 classes which range from 5-7 year olds in Briggs and Stratton Motors to adults in the super powerful 2 stroke 500cc and 4 stroke 600cc Open Divisions.

Well, three of us made it to Red bluff on Saturday...Little D, Staggard and myself. It is worth the trip to see the karts, they put on a great show. They pushed the different kart classes out one after another so the show went pretty fast. My Mom is very ill so we almost didn't get to go and we didn't arrive until 4:00. We left right after the last main and didn't get a chance to go into the pits.

It was very hard to hear the announcer (probably cause the karts were on the track) but we recognized a few of the drivers, like Sean and Daniel Becker, Kyle Larson, Kevin Gains, etc... The announcer did a great job talking about Gary Jacobs.

We should plan another trip back and see if we can get everyone together.

Cindy

HOSERVILLECA -THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

Ryan Kaplan qualified 17th out of 31 karts - not bad for being away for 4 years. He finished 5th in the heat and was running 2nd in the B-main. On lap 15, a rod end broke and ended his night. Ryan had fun being back in a kart. A one groove track, and not a lot of passing. I guess he will be running a few more kart races after the Chili Bowl in the same kart.

It was great to see Justin Bradway (Alan Bradway's son) lead 12 laps in the Box Stock Main (finished 3rd) and take home $120.00!!! Jake Morgan (Gary Morgan's son) won the Main and took home the rest of the lap money. Little PowerFeed Ryan Robinson (Powerfeed David Robinson's son), was coming on in the Beginner Box. He finished 2nd and almost took over 1st a few times. Looks like the retired sprint car driver's sons are coming on strong!

For Kyle Larson, check his website out for the article and a video clip. www.kylelarsonracing.com

Thank you again for your support!
