hot damn for the first time I'll be headed to the Chili Bowl this year. Can't wait. Here in El Reno...20 miles west of OKC......we got 1' of ice but about 7-9 of snow. Biggest snow-storm here that I can remember.....at least the last 8-9 years. I could barely pull up my driveway. With 37 the forecast high tomorrow doesn't seem like much of it will melt either. Anybody (including my father) who planned on goin to the Big 12 Championship in KC better make other plans and try to sell their tickets.

Hawker....you are very wrong pal. As painful as 104 is.....you can only get that temperature during.........RACE SEASON. Right now I'm like a hybernating bear. Until January that is.

It's too bad I don't have a digital camera anymore so I could post a picture from 2 hours north of Columbia MO and show you all the green grass. Maybe everyone can click on that live webcam from the Knoxville Speedway to get the same result.

Damn Pat, I was really trying to forget that the white stuff is on the way.
Ohio has dropped from 60+ yesterday to 30ish right now, had a shitload of rain the last two days as well. Winds are amazing, gusts over 50. It's a real hoot watching the state football finals today and seeing them have punts and passes almost blown back into their laps.

Speaking of hunters, found this in the Lansing (MI) State Journal:
"Rare find: Two bucks locked in mortal fight"
Rod Snyder gave up hunting a long time ago, but today he's in the market for a taxidermist worthy of a rare and dramatic mount. Snyder owns the inseparable heads of two magnificent whitetail bucks--victims not of a hunter's bullet, but of mortal combat with each other. The two bucks--a 10-pointer with 16-inch tines and an 8-pointer with 12-inch tines locked antlers while sparring over breeding rights. Their battle evidently took them deeper into a 10-acre pond where they both drowned.
"The cry has been that when war is declared, all
opposition should be hushed. A sentiment more
unworthy of a free country could hardly be
propagated."
~William Ellery Channing
