Saw him run fifth one night at Susquehanna in the Weikert #29. Read the next day he had been fired.

LMAO! How did this almost decade old thread get brought up?
Anyway, I'm glad it did. I didn't know them at the time, but now Garry's son (Jordyn) is one of my best friends. I'll make sure to tell him to show his dad this thread, as well as the video of the fight at US 36 (though I'm sure he's already seen it). They'll both get a kick out of that!
Jordyn and his dad are some great people. Jordyn is a pretty good driver himself, though certainly not to the level of Garry (yet!)

Garry, was a regular at Knoxville and Huesets in the 90"s. He was in a 21au car and a pretty good customer when I worked for LEV WINGS.

Garry was a talent that never reached the goals he could/should have and that is an understatement. Brooke Tatnell once told me at Knoxville while holding up his baby finger that Garry had more talent in his baby finger than he had in his body. Brooke was being a bit facetious but Garry was magic in Australia and I saw him for two winters over there. He was a very athletic guy, I watched his skinny frame hit golf balls over 300 yards in a couple tournaments I played in that he did also. He was just fluid, as a Sprint car shoe and a swinger of the golf club, he just 'had it'..... I got a whole pile of troubled stories but I will leave them on the sideline at this point. I liked the guy a whole bunch, he was so much fun and so gifted, his Dad was the Karl Kinser of Australia during the time also.....

I remember seeing him at Husets. He drove like a wild man, all over the track and fast as all get-out. Entertaining and scary at the same time.

That's not very telling. I'm thinking there were plenty in the 29 who ran better than fifth one night and were gone the next night. :)
