Sonoanrat, sportsmanship was thrown out the window in the post game comments made by the michigan runningback Mike Hart. If there is a rematch for the National Championship, he has supplied Ohio State with motivation with his comments. I guarantee that you will not see any of the same coming from OSU.

Agreed - Bo wouldn't have approved. OSU's defense will be motivated for the next 12 months for that one.

Better start engraving the trophy now - Troy Smith did what he needed to do to win the Heisman. His 3rd straight year of beating "that team up north" will be treasured by us OH..IO folks for a long time.

RIP - Bo Schembechler

Now here's a question, since USC seems to have a shot to play for bcs title game, if Notre Dame beats USC, who'll be playing in for the title. Because Notre Dame was thrashed my Michigan.

In my opionion the two best teams should play for the national championship, that would be Ohio State and Michigan.

I'd cherish another chance at Michigan for the BCS title, but don't know how the voting will go. Hart's coments will be on the lockers of each defenive players for a while.

GO BUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless Florida or USC win big in their last couple of games, Michigan should get a rematch, although the BCS is a money grubbing bogus way to decide a champion.

If USC beats Notre Dame and UCLA, the old historical way of matching up bowl games would have worked. ..Ohio State and USC in the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day.

If Florida wins out, have they proven to be better than Michigan, USC or Notre Dame?

Just go back to the Bowl game format. The current system is a joke. It's not fair and doesn't really decide anything.

I'm sure the Fiesta Bowl can't wait to invite Boise State. TV is going to love that....

The way it SHOULD be...

Rose: Ohio State vs. USC

Sugar: Florida/Arkansas vs. Michigan

Orange: Texas/Oklahoma/Nebraska vs. Notre Dame/West Virginai/Louisville

Fiesta: Wisconsin vs. some leftover two-loss team

If they really wanted to be fair...go back to a ten game regular season and have an eight team playoff in December. But that's not going to happen.

A playoff system is the only way to truly decide who the best teams are. But the bowl games are a huge money maker so it will be tough to get rid of them sadly.

Ahh, but Oetken, they could implement those bowl games in the playoffs. It's not like they all are played on Jan 1st anymore as it is today. In fact, by using the bowl games as playoff rounds, they would enhance the bowls by bringing them bigger, more meaningful games since they would all have an impact on the National Championship rather than just one bowl per year.

Have an eight team playoff...that would take seven games to play. Rotate the final three games (two semi finals and a final) yearly among the Rose, Fiesta and Orange. Use the Sugar, Cotton, Gator and Capitol One games as first round sites. I don't know why this is so difficult for everyone to agree on. 1 vs 8, 4 vs 5, 3 vs 6, 2 vs 7 Just look at those games and then the semi final round games as well. EVERY game meaning something and a boon for the bowl games. Christmas weekend, New Years weekend and Championship Jan 8th.

As for yesterdays game, an instant classic. AMAZING intensity and great job by both teams. Ohio State has so many weapons and showed it with six different guys scoring and that did not include Smith himself, Hartline or Nichols who are all dangerous. How can you stop the Buckeyes? I don't think you can, just too many weapons there and they can beat you in any way necessary.

Hart and Henne did a great job for the Wolverines too. Gotta give them props for sure.

I believe these are the two best teams in the country, but like I stated earlier, I just don't believe they will match them up again. I really think they'll want to have a different matchup and the USC will be it if they beat Notre Dame. If Notre Dame wins, do you feel like they'll give it to Florida (if they beat Arkansas)? I do, only because Michigan beat ND so bad that they would have a hard time justifying sending ND and again, not wanting a rematch game. Just my thoughts and obviously it doesn't count for anything.

GREAT GAME! AWESOME EVENING! THE REAL NATIONAL TITLE GAME!

RIP Bo....Hope you and Woody enjoyed the show!

Let's thank Crable for that hit & extra 15 yds or the outcome might have been a little different.

I kept telling my buddy when it was 28 to 14 that they better not let up. Then the mistakes came & look how close it ended.

Without a doubt, college football needs a playoff system. Whether it's incorporated into the current bowl system or not, a true playoff is needed, not computers or suits deciding.

Look at how big the basketball NCAA tournament is. Imagine something similar with NCAA football, now you're talking.

Oetken is right, money is the bottom line and every conference gets paid well with the current bowl format, so no change will come soon unfortunately.

Change will come, but it will come slowly for the reasons stated above.

Unfortunately, even though the players do not get one dime of it, money is a neccessary evil here for the universities.

Perhaps it's time to at least allow the schools to pay a small, fixed-rate allowance to the players. I personally know at least one college football player who was on scholarship (about 20 years ago) at a school, but had to drop out because he couldn't support himself. Sad.....

On ESPN radio this morning they had the BCS expert Brad Edwards on Mike & Mike, and he said that Notre Dame has zero chance of playing in the title game. USC has the best shot, if they win out they are in over Michigan. If they lose one of their remaining two games, then Florida has the next best shot to get in over Michigan, but if they lose to Arkansas and Arkansas wins out, it would still probably be Michigan playing Ohio State unless Arkansas whips both LSU & Florida.

Right now, USC controls their own destiny, win out and you're in! Michigan needs USC & Florida to lose, and they would probably get another shot. Arkansas needs USC to lose, and then needs to crush both LSU & Florida to have any shot. Notre Dame can not make it in no matter what.

I personally would love to see a rematch, but I am an Ohio State fan. People around the country probably want to see USC or Florida in the title game. I guess as long as Ohio State wins, I don't really care who they play!

Sorry Scoop, I am not buying into "the players do not get one dime of it". The young gentlemen who willingly participate and accept scholarships receive about $25,000 per year of education, the finest in the world, in addition to perks of which most dream. The most unfortunate aspect, is that the majority do not take benefit of the gift.

Me, I paid my way through college "assisting" jocks, most of whom made about $500 to $750 per week at the laundromat in West LA.

Everyone on ESPN says that Ohio State and Michigan are the 2 best teams in the country, this is true. But some, like Doug Flutie, say that and then have the nerve to say Michigan had their chance and now it is someone elses turn. Excuse me, but if they are the best teams they should play regardless, and you can't say that Michigan had their chance at the National championship if USC would get to play OSU on a NEUTRAL FIELD.

Mccarlfan, should Ohio State's win be diminished because this happened to be their year to have home field advantage? Each of these teams have won and lost in each others home stadiums throughout this long rivalry. Championship teams win under any circumstances. Your neutral field arguement holds no water.

Jeez, I know it's a marching band, but it's a tradition.........

Did Jac H. ever play the tuba???

Don't get me wrong (Jac fans), but the last non-band member to dot the "I" was Jack Nicholas.

How about this?.......
