I would like to clarify something, even though I'm involved with a sprint car team I also enjoy watching other divisions race as well. I have no gripes with the racers of other divisions as we all have alot of hard earned money, time and blood, sweat and tears invested to do what we all love to do and thats race.

Each and every team, regardless of the type of car they run all deserve the right to get to run their entire show,as we all paid the same amount to get in and their respective fans all deserve the right to see their favorite cars run an entire show.In this case the Late Models got to run their full show, the sprints and modifieds both got their races cut short.Regardless of the division none of us can control the amount of caution flags or race stopping red flags that occur,we all try to do our best.

My gripe is with the promotors who try to run more classes of cars than is realistic with the time restraints that are involved in the state of California. If they start the shows earlier to get the entire shows in that usually isn't condusive to having a good racing surface, since the sun will be beating down on the track for more hours, plus the amount of laps that will be put on it.My suggestion to the promotors is,run one headliner group and one support group, not two headliners and a support group. At least with only two divisions there's a much better chance at having a good racing surface and getting the entire shows in.That way the racers and fans can all get their moneys worth of entertainment and all walk away happy.

KOP,

I think I have a pretty good idea about who and what you're talking about!

My opinion -- All promoters should allow one minute per lap. If the racers want to run they will get their crap together or load it up. The track was great that night, not sticky like typical hanford follow the leader racing. Frank is doing a great job! That night it was $20 for two adults and only $4 for a beer. Everyone is so quick to bitch and moan but nobody ever has a compliment for a job well done. I really doubt all you whiners are perfect at whatever it is you do for a living. Why don't we all thank Frank for trying to save Kings Speedway. I have done the math and he is really laying it on the line and I wish all the success just for trying and putting his money where his mouth is. There is room for improvement in the announcing but everything takes time.

Moondog,

You might not be so happy if you would have paid $40.00 a person like we did to get in the pits.Great track, yea right! I've been going up to that track and racing for 20 plus years and thats the worst I've ever seen it,maybe you enjoyed one to many of those 4.00 dollar beers.(lol)

you've got to be joking that was the worst track I've seen in a long time!

I thank Frank for his efforts to keep the track going but if he keeps putting on junk shows it wont last long.

You just *might* have a guess. You are always good to have an ear to the ground and I have always applauded you for that. I'll only say if *IT* happens (and it has a solid chance too), the ol saying "What comes around, goes around" will really apply here!!! I had wanted to come by and say hello @ the Copper but I was side tracked all weekend doing this and that. I will make it a point to say hello my next trip out this fall. Of course, if you come out to Oskaloosa and any of the other Sprint Bandit shows in August, feel free to look me up. I help McCarl @ Oskaloosa and Olsen @ Lakeside each year. I'm pretty EZ to find.

Rob: Sorry for the tease....I'm bitting my lip here, but I have too! Hope to hook up with you on my next trip out there. Keep posting those picks! I look at those with interest.

PS: Terry.......that was $40 for the pits WITH your USAC card?? If so.....OUCH!!!!!!!

SJ Valley Dave,

Some of us on this board are alot more deeply involved than just fan status.Like I said above,it's pretty stupid to be having trophy presentations when they're already up against the curfew.Run all the races, then bring up the winners of each division for a trophy presentation.

2dafront,

As far as letting it go,some people had alot more money invested in this situation than you probably did.

No didnt have money invested in that night but we race also and have been cut short before at several tracks. things happen tracks cant always be perfect and the way I understand it it took close to an hour for the cra main that is way too long. we get up to 5 classes done at kings in plenty of time it was just a bad night.

Kop,

It was $40.00 bucks and our USAC membership card meant squat!Every other track we run at is $30.00 for members and $35.00 for non members.

There seems to be a cycle that has been going on every 7 or so years, so ASCS would be next in line for domain. Interesting is that form of body is what Frank Lewis pushed for back in the early 90's and was unsuccesful in getting any backing by the car owners. KOP, you can post any of my posts any time, I only ask that you quit being so negative every time you see a chance to take a cheap shot at the west coast conditions ever since SCRA fell out of power, and comments like"what goes around, comes around" back my claim. I guess what I'm saying/asking is, how about if I went on the ASCS message board and found a reason to knock down an incident after every race? Would things be better for you if USAC called you at home (2,000 miles away) and ran every incident passed you before a decision? Also, you posted that $40.00 pit pass for a member is "OUCH", what do you think your "secret" new club will be charging? Still waiting for an answer to my ealier question, are you willing to back the purse for a rainout situation?
