...I thought so too filtair. The strictly Kinser ass kissers like Twenty8 have taken the downfall the hardest. Even I'm glad to see they've still got a little spunk left. Long live the king.

Lasoski, McMahan and Solwold made $5,000 in point money with the World of Outlaws this year if that's what you're talking about Hawker...lol.
USA, NSL, NST... Three strikes, YOU'RE OUT!!! The NST's death certificate reads LACK OF ATTENDANCE as the root cause. At least no one can say Kinser didn't go down swinging however. Tough season.

Nice side step around my question.
Fact? Or speculation?
If you claim that it is fact, what do you base your facts on?

I'm sorry Hawker, I must have missed the press release showing what the point fund was for the NST this year. Please post the link.
World of Outlaws paid $850,000
All Stars are paying out close to $200,000

So what you are telling me is that you assume that there is no point fund.

then Lasoski has $5k + $50 MIL more than DIRT these days! that figure should be AT LEAST $18 million lower thatn the real "shortfall" if they follow the recent trends.
DIRT lost the top name drivers, losing money, empty seats w/ lower ticket prices...sounds like a strike out to me!...or maybe a walk on balls?
in most every fight, the winner is the guy who has the least to lose by continuing the fight. can they afford another year of bleeding while the accountants file one operational shortfall after another?
much silence on the rumored "ship jumpers"...how is that working out for you?

Hey CubeSteak I am nowhere near a Kinser fan or anti WoO. I do however have enough common sense and peripheral vision so it doesnt smell where MY head is at.

that 1 share i bought might end up being a collectors item.
Like someone said about the NST trophy being a one of a kind a few weeks ago. My paper for 1 share might end up being one too. Worth more if they go broke as a collectors item.... :) I kid I kid

I don't care which series people prefer, if Dirt doesn't make it that's not going to be good for the sport. Who would step up and back a national touring series if the biggest name brand couldn't make a go of it. I'd say that it would cause a ripple effect through the entire sport if that were to happen.

You'd better get your vision checked then...the first line on your eye chart says K a k. The World of Outlaws has everything in place except a series sponsor and the NST has nothing especially attendance. While all you are sitting around waiting for Dirt to go belly-up, the World of Outlaw race teams are walking away with millions in purse, point fund and exposure. Kinser and klan simply look like fools. Let me know when they reach the "next level" they left searching for. It was also a nice change over the past year for the World of Outlaws to get a breather from all the whining and bad publicity in the papers... even if you bunch of yahoos still haven't figured it out yet. They will easily outlast the NST… no one is buy buy buying your BS.

Hawker, come on now buddy. You're an ex-okie, but you know you still got the blood (and the accent too I imagine). Everyone is still slammin DIRT for being in debt....geez look at our nation's debt. I don't see any of ya'll saying the country is completely screwed within a few years. Sorry ya'll to make that corralation, but it makes a point. Just because something is in debt does not mean it is dead. DIRT is trying new things to get out of that debt, while NST is operating in the same manner that got DIRT into that debt. It's good for the sport if WoO succeeds, can any of ya'll see that?

BTW BRR your "marquis names" have no series and some have no rides right now. So go and preach stability to us, especially being that big time owners in your own state are packin up and bailing out.

Cubic - I assume nothing, that's why I feel the way I do about DIRT. I have based my opinion on their actions. I base my opinion on the NST on their actions. Also, not all races had low attendance, the NST show I went to had as good or better of a crowd as the WoO in 2005. I'm glad that you brought up the fact that the WoO does not have a series sponsor. All a corporation has to do is look at the SEC filings for DIRT and that will scare them off. After all, how much stock have you bought? You say you haven't? Why?
OKCFan12 - I have been waiting for someone to make a comparison between the DIRT debt and the debt that the USA has incurred. First off, 6 years ago, the country had POSITIVE CASH FLOW and the debt was being PAID DOWN. Then came along "W" and the taxes went down and the spending went up. Sound familiar? BUT, there is still one other big difference too. The USA has a lot of things to show for their debt. What does DIRT have to show for theirs? Also, whatever DIRT is doing to try to pay down their debt is failing miserably. I can not figure out what you mean by saying that the NST is doing the same thing that DIRT did to drive up their debt. Have they bought numerous doorbanger series? No. Have they bought race tracks? NO. Do they have 80 people on their payroll (with several of them raking in $180k a year)? No. The NST has only focused on SPRINT CAR RACING.
Stan - I'm glad that you realize the impact it would be if (when) DIRT fails. It will be enormous and it baffles me that people can't see past the glitter to realize what is really going on.
With a handfull of WoO teams making less than $50k for the whole season in 2006 (point fund included), how many do you think will return in 2007?

Hawker, I don't like the World of Outlaws financial situation either... I'm sure not even they do. A major series sponsor would take some of the edge off I'm sure. I'm happy with all their other moves however. The Unified Sprint Car Summit is great. The TV deal is great. The teams they've assembled have exceeded expectations. Their schedule, purse and point fund are second-to-none.
What exactly is the point of the NST? Not even their champion, Lasoski says he knows what they're trying to do. Most people are drawing a blank. Whole deal seems a little stupid.
