Well I will Tell James beane This, If he can find me a cheap race car i will race because i will not spend a lot of money For A Out dated race car. I will have no Problem with The Motors the motor is no defferent then any other class, because it just a different head no Problem. The problem i would have is all the babys in that class somebody gets fast they start saying hes cheating, you know whats killed this class the race car drivers in pros it self because every night they cry about this or that, But i love that class and would love to race it. Find a cheap car i will race.

I guess there is plus and minus either way on the head. Yes do good and Brill will tear you apart.........literally. Hope that man enjoys his trophy. Because his track is probably next to go after the pro stocks in 07. Life has its funny little ironies. This one will be after 2007........he probably won't have anywhere to race. AT ALL. Although I'd love to see him get in a mod and get spanked. Of course then he'll go to spinnin guys out b/c they are running illegal. Unlike Brill Steve Smith can race just about damn near anything........am I correct that Brill is the only one who has never really driven anything else.......besides when he wrecked Lance Sessions to win @ Xtreme SuperNationals?

I Agree Okc Fan 12 Wonder Why He dont have any cars at his track Hmmm. he wants to race 5 cars its easier to win a championship that way, and all his buddys let him screw them to. I say you win a championship move up and a mod is up i promise i drive one and i have drove every thing mods are by far the hards to drive because it takes driving skill. not alot of people can do that i havent really seen steve smith do it yet but give him time and he will you know terry holland has tried them all to and the only thing he has won a championship in was pros. they will not last woodall tryed mods dont race no more, ricky goforth has done both tony anderson has done both alot of racer has done both. but only a few can make it. tony osborn will sell his mod. they are 7 guys in the top ten pros that has not ever drove a mod. think about that they want 10 race cars because they can get a top ten. there pay is going to be just like the mods now. so now they have something else to bitch about.

FYI: Woodall only moved up for the pay. That is why he moved up. He is older man, but he can still get on the wheel pretty good. He can beat some of the younger guys today. In his prime, there was probably not many people who could run with him. For a 70 year old man, who fought cancer and won- that is an amazing accomplishment.

James, I understand about the last 2 yrs., but I'm going to have alot better motor this next year (if the money comes in) "hint OKCFan" ! Will that rule still be in effect next yr. so I can run those 3 times? I am going to try to run Street stock & if it was a steel head then I would make more shows than 3 !

Fan, hope it hits this week, I need some help!

you and me both flash.

How can pro and mod purse be the same. Thats crap. Mods put on a WAY better show than pros.......no matter the condition of the track. Since we'll end up with 4 classes about 2 weeks into the season. Bring ASCS Sooner/and National in more. And for once all the stock car fans/drivers can shut their mouth about it because once the pros are gone.....its the only way anyone will ever get a night off.

wow this is a bad subject for everyone. looks like no one likes pros. well they could change the rules a bit and turn them into late models. tube chassis and things like that. Brill is a good friend of mine and i would hate to see the pros go under but if the car counts arnt there then away they should go. I dont defend any driver because that is why people dont like the officials. When you favor you loose. I love racing and being a part of the crew but the more im there the more i realize that the sfs officals have a bad reputation. Well I think thats bull but i dont do anything but push. so with that said I hate to see a class go but i wouldnt mind seeing another come in. I think we need a fun class. Bombers. haha them things are great. Well hope i didnt tick anyone off. Seems like okcfan 12 is on the edge anyway. haha jk man. your alright. But im goin crazy sittin at home. Cant wait till next year.

Dont get mad at me, im just the pushtruck guy.

You can look at it many different ways. If Lanny would let the track go dry more often, then you would see more drivers that are less competitive with less motor shine if there are any good. I would take a dry slick track any day over a heavy fast track. There would more racing than just stick it on the bottom and see one groove racing. Just my opinion.

Aw come on Matt...... I'm only on the edge because of dirt racing withdrawals. I tell you man I am jones-in bad. College Football only goes so far to help. I always did like the pro stocks, but between bad rules and bad drivers (attitude) its just went downhill. Officiating comes in as well, but the worst rap seems to come from the current champ of that class. You know you did something wrong when NO ONE likes you. Larry Neighbors at his worst had more fans than this guy. Maybe because it isn't just drivin style that is his problem. Everyone knows.....or at least really really thinks they know....that he was behind all of the BS at the end of the season. My take on it was if he did he bought or bitched himself a championship. And what kind of message does that send to drivers interested in racing at his track? We all know the answer to that one. Anyhow Matt I know thats your bud but opinions are opinions I mean no offense to you. You're alright by me. And how can anyone get mad at you.?......you're just the push truck guy.

I never liked dry slick tracks. But with many of the things I've become aware of in the last few years I'm starting to lean on that one. Each of the classes has guys with absurd amounts of money in their motors......especially considering the purse they are racing for. I think sprints will always be that way.....unless you go with 305's and I can't say I'm a real big fan of those.....but they're ok. However the champ and super sprints are much better viewing pleasure. Other things can be done with sprints to cut costs (tire rules, head rules, whatever). The real problem I have is wth the factory stocks. I've already beat that one with a stick and most of us know where the problem is there. It seems even more that Lanny wants to keep the money up front with the way he preps the track. You know at almost any other track I could understand because fans don't like dust......but because of the roof.....or voodoo dolls depending on who you ask.......there is no dust. I would think someone with the knowledge of track prep like Lanny Edwards could find an inbetween there. But yet he doesn't, why? Like I said before............He wants to keep the money up front. The danger in that thinking is those guys only constitute about 5-10% of all cars that race at SFS. So in turn you are running off the other 90%.

But for right now I just hope they bring the claim rule back in the factory stock. So that the champion of that class will actually have to beat out more than 2 or 3 other drivers. It would give more drivers/team a fair and legit chance. It must really be frustrating to some drivers knowing they don't have a chance between their wallets and Lanny's heavy race track.

Well, I am sure the answer to that is; Dry slick tracks cause the less experienced to spin out. This causes cautions. Lanny is all about money then schedule. If there are more cautions, the schedule is disrupted. So I would not count on the track being dry slick (on purpose) unless the cost of fuel or water goes higher than it already is. Jusy my honest opinion!

Ya'll have to remember, Lanny is a sprint car lover, he can do without the pros. As many of you have said, he probably gets a kickback on Brodix heads and with that, it's probably the only reason he's kept the pros. He could care less if they make it or not. He kept the purse high, trying to entice other Pros that it was worthy to buy the spec head. The problem there was when pros came from other tracks to try it out (going for the big payout), I hate to say it, but SFS track favorites came in play. (Not only issue but a big one)

The bad thing is, I don't think there is an acceptable resolution to the current pro problem. Lanny don't want to accept suggestions of anything, let alone compromise or accept any of them. Something's gotta give and to be honest, I think the class will be desolved before any changes are made.

Good luck!! See you at the track.

Wendy

sure is a shame too. The Pro Stocks had some really good races on the 3/8. Even better ones on the half. Maybe it's best the class is desolved.....and maybe not. Just doesn't feel right not seeing pro stocks like the 8, 12, 64, or 83 out there every year. I'm young but I've been watchin them for as long as I can remember. But thank you to all who posted on here to provide insight to the situation. There's always more to it than it appears.

So just what is the deal with this class? I take it by reading some of these posts that you can run both a steel head and/or the Spec Brodix aluminum head? But that some people are saying that a guy or guys that run the steel head are cheating? Doesn't involve me one way or the other, just reading posts and wondering.

champsprint50, your engine should be done about the second week of December

Hey JD haven't seen you for a spell. I took it by lurking on here that you were in fact the JD I knew..........lol.

Thanks for the releases just trying to breathe life into the normal "cookie cutter" press releases we all see.

You coming to the Chili Bowl? I'll have to look you up if you are.

Look you up in January.

Kelly just glad to see you all are not discriminating up there in Bixby in your apparel department. LOL

I have one car left and it's as old as the hills ,LOL

Yes I would bet you "Might" know where to get some engine parts too. LOL

My biggest worry would be can we keep the wheels on it, my old turd is not use to all that Torque and Horsepower.

But hey I am all for trying and as for piece one together , Your piece one together would be better than some of those so called Top of the Line deals. I have no doubt about that statement.

I am thinking we are on our way to Fame and Glory, not sure about the riches though as that's not a main staple in sprint car racing, but hey it's all about the getting the picture with the Hooter's girls or any other bikini clad trophy girl , isn't it.LOL

OK need to ask what class will we be competeing in and what fine dirt facility will we be racing at.
