I'm not so sure there are "penalties"----just don't get to reap the rewards.  Maybe I'm wrong?  Do they get fined or told to return money already paid?  I guess I don't know the contract 100%

I think it's a matter of definitions. If they run too many non-WoO races, they are penalized by not getting lap money an dother fringe benefits going forward. I believe they also get penalized by being no longer eligable for the points fund. You could say that's penalizing someone for points they've already earned, but whatever. Tomato / tornado.

I think it is funny they can't run the HL races, but the HL guys can run as many races outside there series as long as the HL aren't racing that night.

One of the back markers is here tonight.   He will not be in the top 10 to 12.

Well, they *can*, but for the most part, they *don't*.

(There= a place. Their= something someone has. FACT! ... Just sayin'... ;))

It's Crawley. It's the home track for him and his dad who was also entered and for Jason Sides his car owner.

The back marker finished second in his heat race and his father, who has been retired for a year or two, won his heat race.  The father starts 8th and the back marker starts 12th in the feature.  Meanwhile, Stawster's hero Eliason starts 18th and Rico failed to make it out of the B.

Update, 4 drivers including Rico pulled out provisionals. So 28 cars on a tight 1/4 mile track, this could be interesting.

The World of Outlaws will be at the iconic beautifully manicured home of the Nationals this weekend for 2 action packed nights of racing. The 'Augusta' of sprint car racing if you will. Who wants to go run some s-hole in Arkansas on a Tuesday where they probably don't even have running water or indoor plumbing?

lol...TUG then.....take up golf then...

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Life is good...

If they're not allowed to run the HL races, how is one of the 'back markers' there?

Only 4 a year.  2 of them will be used at Eldora in July so that leaves 2 others.  HL as long as they are not racing can run wherever and wherever they want no restrictions....huge difference.

Where was he in the final rundown?.....just saying!

He didn't set the world on fire at his home track.

The total point fund is divided up into 2 parts. The first is the traditional point fund money given out before DV money was added,  for example first place in points gets $200k. The second is the exclusivity bonus which is eliminated if you race 5 or more non-WoO events. If the point champ is eligible (I.e. he raced in 4 or fewer non-WoO events) he gets an additional  $150k. The exclusiivity bonus decreases by position just like the point fund but it's a fairly substantial amount. I believe you re still eligible for tow money and the other perks even if you race 5-8 non woo events, but are not eligible for the bonus. If you race more than 8 non-WoO events you're no longer eligible for any platinum perks.

The outlaws should be able to race when and where they want to if the Woo are not racing that night..... just like the HL guys!.…. without any type of penalty.

Stepping away from the performance debate, didn't Jason Sides grow up racing in that neck of the woods?  Could it have been the owners choice to attend ?

I think that's right. Sides team won't be in contention for wins at big events so it makes sense to chase stuff close to homebase.

Who cares... Last night Rico had a bad night.  Landon had a qualifying night finishing 18th  I think...he really took a lot y money away from the HL.

Lol he had an off night.  I wouldn't call 18th in the feature s lot better.  Time will tell.... Rico will get it going.
