I think the simple answer is FUNDING. Todd Quiring used to own Big Game Treestands and sold the company a year or two ago, He currently owns Killer Instinct Cross Bows, in addition to The Jackson Motorplex and Huset's Speedway along with numerous other commercial properties. I think Gravel was looking long term at his career, after his NASCAR truck deal went away. JJR was at a crossroads with Bobbi Johnson selling part of the team to Phillip Dietz and his wife. Gravel brought some sponsorship to the #41, but not like Carson Macedo who is bringing his Tarlton & Son and Complete Parts & Equipment Solutions sponsorhips to the team, which I would imagine is significant to help keep the team fully funded.

Sound like you know what you are talking about..
Gravel could not compete with the heaviy funding that Carson was bringing for the
41 ride. It's like a pay to play deal. He who brings the biggest stash of cash
gets the ride. JJR needed the funding.. Like I said earlier Grabel and Dietz
together are fearless. Wishing David much success with the 2 ride this year..
He always seems to make whatever team he is with only look better.
