never won a WOO championship....no Nationals Win...I would say his Two Kings Royal Victories are his biggest wins? I think he's finished 2nd in WOO points a couple of times.
|
Thank you for the info. Well maybe he will win the nationals this year and make it 100 win. Good luck Joey

Just last year, Joey led 60 laps at the Grove, and nearly won the Natty Open.
|
I know!! He's been so competitive in the recent past....just don't like seeing him not consistently in the picture the last couple of years

No one is running a 410 Ford engine on tour...yet. TSM is working with Ford on developing a 410 engine, but it's still in development. One of Saldana's major sponsors is car dealership Elk Grove Ford, hence the ford logo...
|
Interesting....I didn't know Schatz was not running a Ford. That makes sense though....Just thinking about all of the support required to run and develope a new engine. Parts availability, things like that.

Hodnett and the Michael Heffner team were debuting a new car last weekend. It, as you say, was not a good weekend. I am sure they will get things ironed out quickly.
|
Yeah ok....Hodnett hasnt looked good since coming back from Fla.. getting spanked 2 weeks in a row by the Hammer.....goes to lincoln and still gets spanked...New car my ass.

I know he's had three new teams in the las four years or something close to that.... Donny Schatz has a for emblem on the side of his ride, so I don't know if it's a ford issue, though it would be interesting to see some dyno numbers!!??
|
If anyone's ass has been in numerous rides and teams that would be Gravel. I think he has adappted pretty darn good.
89g J&J old ass dodge engines won outlaw races
billrose #6 car won outlaw races and prelim night at Knoxville nationals
59 tom ledig
83 Rod Tiner won race
82 buffalo wild wins won race
83 Roth won races 2 weeks in with the outlaws and National open
7 Destiny Maxim o wins but quicked timed , came pretty close to winning timed 3rd quick I think for nationals (don't hold me)
5 cjb gf1 last year new team chasis crew chief and several changes within the crew minus Jackson won 9 races first year
5 this year let's keep winning Gravel.
He is only 24 tell me in a short time how many different chasis, crew chief, engines and crew guys and home base states he's had

I'm a huge fan of David. But, just to clarify--i believe the #6 bill rose car was just the 89 car with the #6 wing on it.

Joey did win 21 WoO races one year back when he was still with KKR. He lost the championship that year because Schatz beat him on qualifying points if I remember correctly. I'm sure this team will start running better, I think it's only a matter of time.

I believe a broken drive shaft broke his leg and ended his season while dominating in wins and points. Was that the same year?

Joey was in a KPC at Haubstadt. Assume Eldora was first weekend in it?

It happens. Sometimes teams and driver just don't gel and sometimes it just takes a while to get up to speed. I'm sure Joey hasn't forgot hbow to drive. Look at Lance Dewease. He struggled for quite a few years to the point where most thought he was done. Then he got in the Kreitz ride and has been lights out.

Don't think so, but I'm not terribly sure either. If I remember the story right, Schatz only had 9 wins that particular year but was able to outpoint Joey on qualifying. Schatz usually qualified pretty good and Joey not so great. Seems like the following year he was injured at Eldora. My memory could be mistaken though...

Maybe the car doesn't want to perform because it's embarrassed to be seen on the track with that god awful ugly ass wrap it has on it?

Isn't it funny how those tables turned, sort of. Joey in the last few years (well before this year) was always great at qualifying (lots of QT) and Don Don has been solid, but doesn't particularly have a ton of QTs (not that he needs it). Just an observation.

I know this is in jest, but I kind of think it's a pretty slick looking wrap and the black, blue and reddish is an nice color combo. The layout and design cues are also different from other cars. Eh, to each his own.

I have wondered the same thing, just not getting the job done? Elk grove ford may have something to do with that! the set up looks way off to me (jmo)
Ascot was the greatest of all time..
West Capital wasn't half bad either..
Life is good...

Its a new team with kinks to work out. They will be fine.
as far as the wrap goes, it's horrendous... I was shocked when I was told Blackbeard did it.
There is no replacement for cubic displacement

It looks like a typical plain blackbeard design to me, which is why it sucks
