You can't be blowing engines and swapping em out week after week.  I remember Ford's half-azz attempt with Jeff Swindell years ago, half way thru the season had to switch to bowtie power by some builder not sure who it was, probably Gaerte back then as there weren't many builder's yet.  .  Maybe he'll have Yates technicians follow the WoO trail with Schatz, if it does happen, which is highly unlikely.  Stewart is a bowtie guy thru and thru.  The reason he left Gibbs was he wasn't going to drive anything but a bowtie, he made that very clear, and especially wasn't going to have one of those taayhoota engines built/manufactured in California in his Nascar rides.  .

HAAS giving him half of a team and all say so with that team certainly had no baring on it at all, right? And why'd he switch to Fords now if hes such a diehard? Smoke follows the money, as 99% of us would do as well. His WoO and USAC cars also ran Mopars when they started and they were the dominate motors.

Personally I'm glad he isnt announcing the majority of is races. Kinda helps keep the circus down.

Some of the best butt kicking ever was JJ Yeley in champ cars co owned by Smoke and powered by Ford 12 years ago.  Of coarse, with the crazy evil canted valves though.

Schatz's domination is not because of what's under the hood.   He will be the series champion regardless of what's under the hood.

Testing, dependability, horsepower, dependability, dyno numbers, dependability, head design, dependability, engine weight, dependability, cam selections, dependability, torque curve and dependability will keep them out of the chase for another WOO championship.

Yes, there is one thing that will be a big help in this venture, throw money after money after money at it and it will get better. But all this will take "time" and there is no more minutes, hours or days to be had.  tic tic tic goes the season.

Maybe next year.

I am not an expert on Ford or Chevy but didnt Jason Johnson dominate the 360 series with a Ford about three years ago and those cars are more evenly matched than the 410s.

And I know Bobby Davis won alot with the Casey Luna car along with other drivers and wasnt there a time that Mark Kinser ran a Mopar?

Lets not let the facts mess up the fun.  JJ put a 410 Ford a few days old with brand new heads never run on a sprint car on the podium at the World Finals as well.  If we want to pretend it will take a million dollars and years of research to run with the current spec 410 chev, that's fine.  Once again, if it happens or not really doesn't mean much because the superior unique Ford stuff has been outlawed for a long time.

The Tweet could possibly be about Ford Power.  But if my eye serves me right it looks like some of the graphics on the tail tank and side panel look like they could be for Arctic Cat (which obviously has history with Tony and the All Stars as well as Schatz at Chili Bowl). So maybe new sponsor announcement with Arctic Cat...

Doesn't the 15 car normally not run the All Star races in Florida?  Just the WoO races?  I saw an advertisement that both the 14 and 15 were running the All Star races at Ocala.  Maybe the Florida All Star races will be Ford trial races and the WoO races will be Chevy races.

I'm still going with (as I say above from a week or so ago) that it's to announce Arctic Cat as new premier sponsor. The small graphics they've shown on Twitter look like it has some elements of Arctic Cat to it (plus Schatz had AC as a sponsor at Chilli Bowl and wore a bright white AC firesuit at CB). Guess we'll find out soon.

Last year Schatz ran the two All Star races at Volusa but not Bubba,Tony said in a previous release that he would run Bubba but not Volusa he said maybe Bell would run at Volusa.

Bell said on Winged Nation that he would like to run more Sprint Car Stuff this year in his off time maybe they worked something out?

Steve Post also said that Tonys sprint car schedule was now up to 80 races.

Where does this leave Kraig Kinser if Artic Cat goes with Scatz?

Schatz's domination is not because of what's under the hood.   He will be the series champion regardless of what's under the hood.   You make the assumption that whatever Ford gets put together by Shaver or someone else will be down on power compared to the Chevys.   Maybe or maybe not, and on small dry slick tracks it won't make much difference anyway.    If it is down on power then your bigger tracks could see a difference.   Knoxville with Donny down on power?   That actually could be interesting.    As for the entire season it won't make a difference at all.

Totally disagree, all of that is a factor.  Engines, chassis, shocks...it all matters.  And it all matters in relation to how Donny drives.

Donny Schatz will not jeopardize his dominance for a logo on a wing or motor

Reliability is by far the biggest worry going to a new motor package and Donny doesn't have too many DNF's

Has anybody heard and/or posted what Kraig Kinser's plans are for 2017.  Seems like he may have lost the ArticCat sponsorship (maybe they will sponsor two teams) but I have not been able to find any news on Kraig. Usually it would be posted if he was going  to Florida, Run with the AllStars, WoO etc. Plus there is nothing posted at Steve Kinser Racing. Strange or maybe he is cutting back or hanging it up...  ????

The D3 stuff right out of the Ford Performance catalog at your local Ford or Lincoln dealer is the most durable, drivable and dominant peice in all of dirt track racing but sprint car officials have a fetish with average mediocrity and wont allow it. Very very sad for the sport.

Thanks Minthess

I was gonna start a new thread to ask but apparently I can just go pick up a new all aluminum 410ci race engine at my local Ford or Chevy dealership, must be why KKR always parks at the dealership in Knoxville during the nationals.

Chevy dealers wont have Ford Performance parts. Maybe the redneck wash boy will have an old Ford Racing catalog from 10 or 15 years ago with SC1 heads that would also do just fine but are deemed too exoctic for profesional World of OUTLAWS sprint car racing.
