To be honest, I doubt Rico gives two shits about the ammount of money he made in the craftsman truck this year. However if someone thought about it, having someone that is a bit different (little person) in the limelight of something as big as the NASCAR stage that could be a spokesperson promoting and encouraging a message for other individuals that may be in a similar situation would be a marketing gold mine! No disrespect to Rico being a little shorter than others, he whips ass up and down the block to people considered normal oin the race track all the time!

I'm sure he saw the Truck Series as a stepping stone to a Nascar ride as well as a great networking opportunity with sponsors and to make himself marketable.  Those were probably motivations over the money, but this was setting him up for a future in Nascar because that's where the money is made.  You're absolutely right Rico is marketable because he's a fantastic driver, has a fantastic personality, is exciting in any racecar and yes because he's a little person he garners attention. It sucks to say that, but it's true...

Rico did not lose his truck ride due to lack of sponsorship. He lost the ride due to his lack of results. If his performance had been better, he would have sponsorship.

Now the question is, will he look for another NASCAR ride or go full time dirt? Inquiring minds want to know....

"I doubt Rico gives two shits about the ammount of money he made in the craftsman truck this year".... then why does he do it? Money talks, millions of people do jobs they don't like cause they need the money

But I agree that he probably enjoys dirt track more, otherwise he wouldn't risk his life for relative chicken feed

Rico and the amount of money he made in Nascar or is it Nascar worrying about not making any money from Rico, i.e., even in Nascar today drivers have their best chance of getting a ride when they "bring" money to the nascar team.  It started in F1, then to Verizon Indy cars, then to NHRA fuel cars, and now according to article in magazine, even some nascar teams are asking perspecrtive drivers if they have deep pockets.  Some F1 drivers like the one from Mexico, forget his name,  bring $5 million a year from his family interests and other Mexican sponsors.

Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.

Do you think Paul Menard keeps his ride based on his superior performance?  F no...his daddy pays for him to be there.

Agreed.  Rico is a fine young man and got his opportunity to drive by being more than his size alone.  Unfortunately, ouside of Danica, the results are the most important thing on a long term basis.  I hope he can get a WoO ride if he wants one, or tries to complete the 200 race challenge Clausen was tragically not able to.

Was his truck a front of the pack quality truck, or just another also ran low budget team.  Also I do not think the truck drivers get paid alot of money.

Well, by judging their operation, ThorSport is hardly an also-ran team.  Their shop is beautiful and so are their haulers, which were produced locally (Sandusky) by Pegasus.

They won 2 championships with Matt Crafton in 2013 and 2014

They are the only truck team to compete every year since the series inception

Tracy Hines is their competition director.

On a personal side note, ThorSport has been wonderful to its community. Each year they have brought their haulers to the City of Sandusky Touch A Truck, which allows kids to see all sorts different kinds of equipment, from race cars to police cars to fire trucks.  In 2016, they brought all their drivers to sign autographs. When the shop burnt, they put decals on their trucks thanking the Perkins TWP FD, Sandusky FD, and Margaretta TWP FD for their service. When Jamie Dickman, a Toledo Firefighter, and Sandusky native was killed on duty, ThorSport employees lined the street in front of their shop with their hands over their hearts As the funeral passed by.  When Sandusky police officer Andrew Dunn was killed in the line of duty, ThorSport put his badge on their trucks, and took his family to a race. Recently, they purchased a new police K9 and cruiser, appropriately named Thor, for the Perkins TWP police department.

I'm sure most of you have not heard of the things like this that ThorSport has done. No matter the results, and I love to see them win, they are first class in the way they treat their community.
