Hey Jack, I am not sure who Keith is or what he said, however. I did and have referred to the old stuff as dinosaurs much to Hawker's chagrin, so what? I started watching these types of cars back in the 50's and have over the years sold Tens of Thousands of them so I speak from a wee bit of knowledge. The dinosaur is DEAD and so is the 50 gallon tank, sorry!!! They fly around the track these days and no longer lumber around as in our youth, sorry. Take It Easy....

You took my friendly banter better than I thought. Took you long enough. I try and get at you and it takes like 3 days to respond. Don't leave me hanging that long. Made me think you didn't read it and I was going to have to do it again in another post.

I believe one of these cars are the same car pictured above in SJ Fast's post. This is Reichert and Daniels in Florida Nationals race (I think)....

Lauren

Here is a photo of the #63 on the way up to a race in Winnipeg in 1969. My cousin bought the car from Wagner and ran it with a rollcage and wing.

Lauren.....Yep ! The white/blue car on the left is the former Elmer George car. The #63 was the Wagner team car. Here's a shot of that #63 car a few years later when it ran as a super with Jerry "Haircut" Lepinski in the seat. At the time it was owned and wrenched by Tom Wilke who is a cousin of StanM of Minnesota Dirt Track Racing website fame. Smile

Holy sh*t Johnny. That pose looks really familiar. I think that I was home on leave from the Navy and was at that race. What year was this taken. I'm thinking of a race at Fairmont in 1972.

Check out the suit and white shirt on that guy in the lower left. It's hard to believe today but the men used to come to the afternoon dirt track races in suits and the women wore dresses. The dry cleaners of the day must have loved it when racing season rolled around.
