Who said the test was wrong?  I know a bunch of people who got tested with the exact symptoms.  Strep throat, mono, urinary tract infection, stomach flu.................still a lot of other stuff going around causing people to be "sicker than shit."  That's why I laugh when I hear someone say "I'm pretty sure I had it already last October".........no, no you didn't.

I've never heard anyone say they thought they had it in October.   I have heard quite a few people say that they think they had it back in February or late January, and I wonder if they might have.

I went 5 days of racing out of 7 and I'm still here and kicking. Can't get rid of me that easy Smile People get sick from diverse gatherings and almost always recover. (Chili Bowl Flu?) This is nothing new we just track and test it now where before people said picked up something and hang low for two days then back at life status quo. It's obviously pretty contagious so sure be careful if you desire but it shouldn't be life altering. Try and go buy appliances right now. Everything is on back order because people stopped working with so many excuses to no longer have to do things they don't want to and the money still comes in. We're gonna have to push forward pre vaccine no matter what to keep this country running and resources at our fingertips. If not be prepared for massive shortages and civil unrest. Knoxville did their best to limit risk. Who is to say it happened at Knoxville or even at the track. Likely it happened outside the track which is no fault of the event as your life outside of the gates is on you.

Hey rev : HOAX wink Your so easy to get worked up. I hope you find peace and comfort in your life yet as being so wound up has to be taxing on a guy.

I'm not wound up. Feeling pretty safe, my only major activities are bike runs on a trail thru the woods & swimming in a beautiful pond. Almost every day...No crowds, social distancing all the way.

But i HATE it when people use magic words  like "hoax" & "fake news" & think they can make the truth go away. Also clowns who brag how brave they are for endangering others with a deadly disease

I just got back from getting tested. I called my manager yesterday as our company's policy is that the you like us to speak to our direct manager if we know that we have come into contact with anyone that has tested positive for Covid. I spoke to her and explained the situation as we were around Paul & Kraig Friday and told her I was fine with anything that they wanted me to do (I am working from home already & have to do 2wk quarantine anyway due to traveling out of state) and she said that it is not mandatory but would probably be best to get tested and gave me some numbers to our employee care people. After about 3mins on the phone, was able to get an appointment at a clinic this morning, test did not hurt other than making your eyes water a little bit, was in and out and should have results by Sunday or Monday they said which isn't a huge deal to me.

To clarify, I am not concerned about getting it as I do not have any symptoms and feel fine. I was not forced to take one and did not feel the need but went ahead and did so out of respect of my co-workers in which some do have pre existing repiratory conditions.

Good man....

I honestly think that this could be a good thing.  .

Between this and the lack of "issues" stemming from Sturgis,  various country music concerts, rodeos,  races, etc, it could finally open some eyes that the whole thing has been overblown and over hyped.    We keep hearing stories about tests being inaccurate, reported numbers being inflated for various reasons.....but crickets in the media and not a single "news" group questions or researches.

Yes,  I realize that people have contracted and even died from the China Virus,   but I firmly believe that it has been over hyped.    (for political reasons) Compare the true numbers to other common ailements and I bet they are close.    Colorado newpapers put out the # of new cases and hospitalizations each day......only 151 total with symptoms as of 8/19.    How many people are in the hospital right now because of drug or alcohol abuse?

If nothing else,  one step closer towards herd immunity and showing that only a very very few outside of a nursing home are at risk of death.

Data from only one state, & its just beginning: https://www.startribune.com/15-minnesotans-catch-coronavirus-at-sturgis-motorcycle-rally/572186362/

It may not have been here on Hoseheads.  I saw it posted a number of times by different people on Facebook claiming they had it last December, November and October.  I even had a facebook friend claim last September.  That's how out of touch with reality some people are.

I'm hoping that the publicity from Pittman, McMahan, and Kinser's crew will get the attention of sprint car fans all across the nation, as well as some fans testing positive.  I saw plenty of race fans being careless at the All Star show at Devils Bowl in June.   Hearing the descriptions of crowds at Dingus and crowds waiting for the pit gates to open after the races, you'd like to think people would know better.   Maybe they don't know or just don't care, but maybe now they'll take notice.

I'm so damn scared of a virus that kills ~ 3% of the known positive cases (mostly old and pre-existing conditions, you know, the people that are next in line for the morgue anyway) that I wetted my leg and plan to live in my parents windowless basement with air filtration forever.

Have fun living in fear for the rest of your life.     The virus is not a hoax but the over reaction and fear driven by the media most certainly is.

You STILL don't get it. Guys like you are constantly bragging about how brave you are, when in fact you're endangering OTHERS. Thats what the mask is for... GET IT????

Can you imagine the outrage if 3 fully loaded 740-400s crashed in the USA every...single...day for the last five months?
But nobody gives a shit when it is a slow, consistent elimination of Americans....3 Vietnam Wars in 6 months....43 September 11s in 6 months....80 Afghanistan wars in 6 months.... people lost their shit over the Tet Offensive... People lost their shit over 9/11... people don't give a shit about COVID-19.... until it directly affects them.

Like I posted earlier. I can't for life of me figure out why people feel the the need to be in contact with people who they have no need to be. They then complain because someone else doesn't wear a mask.

I assure you that I'm not living in fear and am doing just fine living my life virus free.   I can also assure you that if I had gone to Knoxville, I would have been smart enough to stay out of a very crowded place like Dingus.   If you translate that to mean living in fear then so be it.  I would bet there will be quite a race fans that wish they had stayed away from large crowds that congregated in certain areas around Knoxville.

I noticed during the Outlaw show tonight in Grand Forks ND that all the interviews were done like a few months ago..Didtancing and masks..Also noted that either you went in pits or grand stands but not both..If you were in pit pass, you stayed there and same with grandstand tickets..If you purchased a package you could get the difference back.

Approx 8000 people die in the US every single day of the year.

China Virus has just sped up the selection rate of those that were already nearing the end of their life.

No one is going to live forever, I'm not going to spend the rest of my life afraid that I MIGHT die.   News flash, you will die.

“China Virus” - brought to you by the same guy who's bankrupting way more American farmers than he did casinos. And the same guy that's costing YOU, not China, a bunch of tax and tariff money.

Then don't argue with yourself, argue against the facts.     The media is purposely spreading unneccessary fear.

https://www.franklintempletonnordic.com/investor/article?contentPath=html/ftthinks/common/cio-views/on-my-mind-they-blinded-us-from-science.html

Covid is very age and health discriminatory.  92% of the Covid deaths are 55 and older, 80% of the deaths are 65 and older.

Anyone that is under 55 yrs old and doesn't have health conditions has almost 0 risk of death FROM Covid.

If I was older or had health conditions I would be wanting the younger and healthier to hurry up and spread this amonst themselves to build herd immunity.    There is no vaccine.   A vaccine that is effective against Covid would be the first vaccine that is effective against any coronavirus, EVER.

This "stop the spread" BS is sickening.   There is no stopping this short of herd immunity.   In order to actually "stop the spread" the entire world would have to shut down EVERYTHING for a month minimum.     That means EVERYTHING, no grocery stores, no clinics and hospitals, no services of any kind.   Everyone is completely locked down for a month while were under martial law.    That's not going to happen.

While I don't agree with your bedside manor------I know a lot of 55 and older people I don't want to see go quite yet---------I will agree with you on your "If I was older or had health conditions I would be wanting the younger and healthier to hurry up and spread amongst themselves to build herd immunity"   I do agree with that.  The problem becomes, how do we make that happen?  When I think about it spreading amonst k-12 schools and colleges I think for a second "great!"--let's get this sucker rolling.  Get all of the schools open and we can get this thing over with.  Then, I'm reminded that a large percentage of the teachers, professors, and staff are indeed the "older or health condition" people you speak of.  I'm also reminded that many of these college students, especially the students in nursing programs, work with the "older or health condition" individuals you speak of.

I do get your point, but it is not black and white.  I find myself flipping back and forth between what I think would be best and what wouldn't.  You are right though, the faster we get this through 1/2 the population, the quicker we are going to be over this.

Sorry, I probably replied to the wrong post or could have skimmed through them too fast.  I hold no grudges or hard feelings against anyone or any subject discussed on their board.  When I comment I look at it the same as having a discussion in the campground after the race.  Throw in a point, reply with counter points and have a fun little round table.  I'm not afraid to bring up unpopular subjects and that has gotten me some private emails from some of the movers and shakers.  I got a few a couple months ago and looked back on my race attendance, average two per year the past four years with a lot of streaming from home.  I'm not sure if I should be proud or feel like I'm being picked on when I'm taken to task by very important people over innocent comments on a message board.  When I comment on the Minnesota Vikings forum I never get taken to task personally by the Vikings owner or general manager but that has happened several times with racing.  For example, never refer to iRacing as video game racing even if you grew up before video games became a thing.  I meant nothing derogatory, it's just not my thing because pinball machines were still the hot ticket when I was young.  Anyways, I got a private message from someone involved with a touring series over that one and the list goes on.  Think about it, an old person calls it what appears to people of my generation to be a video game and I'm taken to task over it.

Anyways, I'm glad you let me know as I never intend to make anyone angry from anything I post.  I participate in a discussion of issues and that gets me in trouble.  Do the movers and shakers contact anyone else over their posts or is it just me?
