Best case scenario is that they will find out that the combination of the smell of burnt alcohol from the cars, the burning rubber on the track, dirt in the air, and a concession stand hot dog is the cure for the rona. Then everybody in the country will be prescribed by their doctor to go to a dirt track race and the stands will be packed and sprint car racing takes over as the number one sport.

This is one of those "be careful what you wish for" scenarios. Do you really want society as a whole invading dirt tracks? It's already bad enough when the NASCAR fans show up if Smoke or Larson are racing. The last thing I want is all of the Karen's of the world bitching at the track.

True, but unfortunately it feels like down time still takes up half the night most nights.
Plus the Karens would just group in force and end up changing everything. It's too dusty, it's too loud, yada yada yada.

Looks likeit will happen.Hopee it is successful. The problem wth live is there is so much dead time.Looks like he has some star power in both Kennys with their modified and a respectable group of sprints.10 people per car will make back gate a money maker. Not many traveling teams have more than 4 people including driver. The WOO rebradcasts take 30 minutes to show you the main and highlites. Of course NASCAR fills up 3 hours plus of not much real racing many paying commercials and pit coverage. Weather looks favorable. This could be a breakthru as people are ready for something to happen. Iracing is about it so far. THe talk of starting to open up some clinics and certain businesses is good news.I know its real but several people had no choice but to keep working and many that didnt are making more than when they went to work.

A very big Thank You goes to Terry & Lori as well as Speed Shift TV to go out on a limb to try this. After watching this post go from positive to negative to somewhere in-between, do I need to remind you that this is a Sprint Car Forum? This event could be a stepping stone to having our beloved Sprint Cars back on the track across the Nation. Drivers and crews are sitting idle...sponsors are questioning their involvement without much representation and fans are thirsty to watch a race. It looks like all the guidelines are being met, but more importantly, it's the free will of the people at work. I can't imagine feeling anything but positive about this. Good Luck to all the racers and I will be tuning in!

When i watch racing i dont want commercials but in this case i hope they sold enough dead time into profitable sponsor mentions to make this profitable so it can happen more. Dunno if ill watch but I would tolerate the commercials as a necessity and enjoy the show.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I would hope that someone from the State of South Dakota would be there to get names, ages and phone numbers of all those that attended for followup research.

Sprinkles in the area, hopefully that means a nice, racy track!

It's actually one of the most brilliant posts on this thread. Stop feeding the stereotype that dirt track fans are idiots...

The whole point was to "prove" that an event like this can be safe.
I would take time to make fun of your comment, but I need to go free some cattle, polish my Porsche and watch the race on Speedshift.

Well I know they had some issues with rain and Speedshift got overwhelmed early but it was an enjoyable night with some good racing. Much thanks to all involved. I hope they turned a decent profit to make it worthwhile

Great night of racing, thanks to McCarl, Adamson and Speedshift for putting this deal together.
Yes I know there were login/streaming/server issues and rain issues but beggars shouldn't be choosers at this point.
Any info on who got the longest tow award?

As much as I hate political carp, I need to ask. Hasn't it been 2 weeks+ since the first sprint car race at Park Jefferson? What's the count on how many teams have come down with the virus since then?
