So far, except for the less dust thing, I see a lot of similarities in the tracks they've ran so far this year to the Ohio tracks Sheldon is used to. I'm going by what I've seen on video of quite a few of the Ohio tracks. I'll probably get schooled here by the Ohio fans that actually witness those tracks, and they would know better than me. I know in person can be way different than on screen, so that's just my opinion. It will be interesting to see how well they continue to perform as they get to running smoother tracks, and tracks with more room to move around on. The CA tracks do seem to always be pretty rough. Know this though.....I'm thrilled to see Sheldon doing so well. Jac has always been a favorite of ours, and he has always been very approachable. The same seems to be true of Sheldon. The Bakersfield race sure proved one thing, like his dad, Sheldon is not intimidated by a damn wall!

Talked with one of the 3 crew members before and after the race at Oildale, they really like Sheldon and what he has done to improve the performance of the team.
Watching in person from the pts (right next to exist of turn 2) Nobody was even came close to putting the car of the limit. Sheldon took big risks and with big risks come more chance of success and failure. I wouldn't be surprised if Sheldon has the most wins, and possible the most crashes.
More than likely, Donny will win many/most races and championship (he came from nearly being lapped to 6th THAT's A Championship Night).
But I would buy a ticket to almost any race Sheldon ran, not so sure about Shatz (it's not about talent, but excitment as a spectator).
...........
Sheldon should keep doing what he is doing (winning) and driving on the ragged edge. It will likely bite him a few times, with experience he might tone it down a bit ? After Sheldon got the lead, I was wondering if he would hang it on the fence, up and till the he crossed the line (even the last corner he charged hard through traffic even with a good lead).
.............
And Yeah, his crew was happy after the checkered flew too

OK, I'll stick my neck out on this one and predict that Sheldon is this year's Gravel. I'm saying 15+
|
That would be impressive. I admit I was one of the many who underestimated Gravel last year. I knew he would improve, but had no idea how fast or how much...
I think Schuchart will continue to improve also
So does this make Gravel the new Sammy????

If you’re going to try to insult someone with what you think is a witty comment about their poor performance in a race you probably should get the state that the race occurred in correct.

The cushion was tricky. There were atleast 6 other cars involved in incidents with it. Unlike a couple of them Sheldon continued and got a top 10 out of it. Can’t let those tricky facts and context get in the way of your narative!

It’s crazy he could have 5 wins already. From where that team was last year to pretty much being the fastest outlaw car is pretty crazy.

Didn't do so well in geography class did you? It's especially bad when you consider that the track they were racing at last night is named after the state in which it resides. So Sheldon tripped over the cushion and spun while leading last night. I'm sure no other driver has ever done that. Totally unprecedented.........

Agreed. It's pretty amazing. Jac really started to improve in that car toward the end of the year last year. That said, how long until some of these know it all rocket surgeons start throwing around the accusations of traction control, doped tires and "big" motors? Only a matter of time.

They had a full off season instead of throwing a team together late, and they have their own engine program instead of borrowed engines. Not to mention Shedlon is pretty good on slicked off tracks.

Well this discussion has certainly provoked some good wisecracks.....
"Can’t let those tricky facts and context get in the way of your narative".... yea, those damn facts
" rocket surgeons ".....
"It's especially bad when you consider that the track they were racing at last night is named after the state in which it resides"
Well done, guys!

"not so sure about Shatz (it's not about talent, but excitment as a spectator)"..... he just won from 12th. I bet that was exciting.
His win at Knoxville Nats from 21st (or something like that) was one of the best races I've ever seen

Schuchart finishes 3rd, from starting 16th?
Must have been a terrific show all around!

Good news. The more stout teams there are, the better off sprint car racing is as a whole. Despite what a select few idiots, including one in particular who seems to have a weird obsession with the functionality (or lack thereof in this person's delusions) of his private parts, Sheldon is a hell of a young shoe who is really hitting his stride at the moment and putting up some solid results and he's with a good team who is also coming into their own. I think most people who have functioning brains would agree that both Sheldon and the team will only get better as time goes by. Sheldon is still very young and he's gonna tear some stuff up and make the same mistakes that every driver who ever amounted to anything made when they were his age but he's exciting to watch and he's a nice kid who is great with the fans. Other than posters on this forum, I've never heard anyone say a bad word about him or Jac. He has a very bright future.

Even the very best sometimes push the limit and spin or hit the wall but being able to come back and continue to pass cars for a decent finish says a lot.Right now Sheldon is the most exciting young driver in the WOO and will continue to get better every year. The current roster of WOO regulars is a good one and many thought the WRG wouldnt be able to continue what Ted Johnson started.I will say they are not true Outlaws like when it was first organized as they must follow the rules or they are penalized. The days of Rick Ferkle,Bobby Allen,Opperman, and then the ones we remember most Kinser,Wolfgang, and Swindell are long gone. They now prefer the WOO regulars get the money but once ia a while the regulars surprize them and those victories are the ones the fans love. The equiptment is very equal in every series but crew cheifs and budgets are not.

Just watched a bit of the Friday WoO race highlights. Lil Haud was flying. Only guy to use the top. How many times did he tag the wall and keep it moving? What position was he in when ended bis night.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I hope i make Eldora, he likes getting up on the top and letting the rpm's stay up there. Mite be really exciting to watch him get around up there. You guys that have a hard on for this kid are out there. First and foremost, wrecking a sprint car at any time, a guy can and will get hurt. One of my hardest hits was after losing a steering gear i slid into a huge tire, yea fill those sum bit**es with dirt. Hit it broadside, broke the nerf bar which came through the side cowl and dam near got me. The car, junk, complete 100% junk. So, talk about guys crashing, unless you have been there. Use what little common sense you may have even if you don't like the driver.

Lucky for me, I'm travleing across the coutnry to hit Eldora for Kings Royal and Lernerville for the Don Martin in mid July.
I read the passion in what you're saying, but not sure I understand what you're saying. If you think its unfair of someone to pass judgement on Little Haud you should know its only one specific poster that's quentioning his abilities. That's the guy that started the thread. I'm confident pretty much everyone else who has responded has piled on him for being a total doosh.
