I agree about the three night deal...what's done is done. I was disapointed by the outcome, but it is what it is. What I see is one guy comes in with money and works with the area tracks......Knoxville, Jackson, Huset's, etc.....that being Tod Quiring. Another guy with money comes in with the attitude screw the rest of you and what you've done all these years, now it's my way. That's when big money messes things up. I'm closer to Jackson and Huset's  than Knoxville by a long shot....but I'm done going to Huset's (he won't miss my money, so no big deal). And that has nothing to do with jealosy. It's a pretty strong rumor that Brennan went so far as to buy a house for McCarl in Sioux Falls to make it convenient for him.  Whether he went that far or not who knows. But McCarl was bought, plain and simple! Is that what we want the area sport to become? Hired gun drivers and an ego trip among owners? Running Knoxville and Jackson, both round trip is 520 miles for McCarl. Running to Jackson, to Huset's and home again is 622 miles. That dispells the notion of those who thought the choice was because of convenience.  As for the rest of it, I've never liked McCarl anyway so I could care less where he drives. With me it's about some blow hard with too much money not giving a shit about the area sprint car racing, when he could be helping it to grow all around.

How is driving from Des Moines to Jackson and to  Husets for Sunday only 622 miles more convenient than driving from Des Moines to Jackson and back to Knoxville and then back up to Husets any less miles.   Maybe you should include a rumor that he is flying McCarl in his private jet.    I find it refreshing somebody is finally thinking outside of the box on many things.    I have always wondered why so many track were under utlitlizied on non racing nights.

Heck it actually makes sense if you have both a 410 & 360 why would you not run Jackson (could double class on many nights) on Friday, Badlands on saturday and sunday.  Kaching....I could see Madsen Bros and others waking up and doing the same thing.    It would actually benefit Jackson and Husets/ Badlands.   Besides (BUTT HURT IN 3...2...1.... outside of the Nationals Knoxville is over-rated for a weekly show in my opinion.....

Best of luck to Terry where ever he races.

Been around Knoxville racing since the 1960's, one thing for certain no one driver or group of drivers not competing at Knoxville ever seems to change anything. There is always some one who steps up and makes a name for himself, new teams, new opportunities. For years good drivers have went on the WOO tour, went to USAC, CRA or PA but there have always been good weekly races and a great Nationals at Knoxville.

One thing for sure if a driver can win at Knoxville, even win consistantly at Knoxville, he/her will be able to get rides anywhere, and be considered a great driver. History shows that is the case, most likely will continue.

i like what you say here. i will not darken husets front gate, when i go to knoxvlle i get goose bumps when i top the hill on hwy 14 and see the sign "knoxville". when i ever i went to husets to pit or watch all i got was a face full of dust and no good feeling in the gut. i am excited about jackson this year, with what todd is doing there. i said from the news conferance on that t=mac would be paid off to race there, and on thanksgiving weekend when he was at the pawn shop in the vip section for the concert, i knew i was right. why the hell would a guy and his wife drive from des moines to soo falls to a grand open for his birthday unless he was being bought. more power to t=mac for taking the money while it is there because i do not see husets being around long with the ticket prices he is charging. it will be a cold day in hell that i would pay 75 bucks to go there for what ever the hell race he is calling it, i would rather spend money on 4 nights at the nationals. like posted before terry dissapointed a lot of his fans and suppoters by making this choice, but that is up to him. i have said this before all chucky is, "is smoke and mirrors"

Read what I wrote....running Knoxville and Jackson (two nights) vs running Jackson and Husets (two nights)! Even if he runs two nights at Husets. BTW....have you bought your season pass to Huset's? Plan on spending the cash to go to the Gold Cup? And the rumor about the house is pretty solid.

I don't understand as fans how it really matters if a guy got a little coin for running a certain track., the promoter is protecting his investment and the driver is as well. Hopefully all three tracks have a good year and give fans the option of where they want to go, especially if weather is forecasted in one area and not another.

For those that complain that drivers are losing their 3rd nigbt of income, how about looking at twice the number of drivers collecting top 5 money each week?

Please just shut the fuck up. Seriously. A house? Please provide credible evidence or will you just continue to make yourself sound even dumber with the next fictional post you make?

Get over it. You're not attending a race there so why does all of this even matter to you?

Boom. Nailed it. If he was spending money on sprint car racing because he wanted to make the sport better and of course make some money of his own (like Tod Quiring has done), that would be great. The fact that he's doing this quite obviously to inflate his own ego and wallet, is what bothers me and should bother everyone else. He doesn't give a shit about sprint car racing. He gives a shit about one thing: Chuck Brennan. I guarantee some people are gonna get screwed over BIG TIME by this guy before its all said and done. That's what made him his fortune so why stop now? Huset's Speedway is just his next victim most likely. I sincerely hope I'm wrong but if it looks like shit, and smells like shit, it's shit.

From what I've been reading about this guy, he reminds me a bit of The Donald....

I'm bummed because I will see him less. He cane and ran an IRA show at Dodge County, I appreciated that. I thought his 2015 schedule was pretty great. He seemed to hit all the important shows.

Not sure why you need to stoop to name calling......shows your imaturity and IQ I would guess. I said keep your eyes and ears open. I'm not going to be a name dropper. As the season unfolds you'll pull your head out of the sand on a lot of things.

You said it was a pretty solid rumor so I'm just waiting on your evidence. Why do I have to wait for the year to unfold if you say it's true right now? Proof it now or STFU. (No name calling this time.)

I'm a McCarl fan, but I think one thing everyone might not consider is that Terry also doesn't like to lose.   He's never been able to beat Lasoski at Knoxville.  All of Terry's titles have come in years Danny was on WoO or didn't run entire year at Knoxville.

Terry is racing for 2nd in points and 2nd place money at Knoxville as long as Danny is there.  Really everyone is.  Terry has a much better chance of taking the winners purse at Husets than at Knoxville.

When you combine that with the money to race all 3 nights, Austin's ride and sponsors in Souix Falls, and less travel to just run from Jackson to Brandon and stay there overnight...honestly this is the right decision for McCarl.

Sucks for Knoxville fans, but anyone in Terry's shoe's, paying Terry's bills, thinking about what's best for Terry would have made this decision.

The one thing that Knoxville will never have is the awesome shows that the 3/8 Bullring formerly known as Huset's can produce on a regular basis. Not saying it doesnt happen on that big 1/2 occasionally, but man, I've been going to Huset's since I was about 4, and there are regularly shows that blow your mind as a winged sprint car fan... I'd venture to say that some of the Knoxville loyalists on here have never seen a loaded feature at Huset's, or at least not very many. (and I love Knoxville too) Oh, and the way those 410's echo in that river bottom south of Brandon is downright orgasmic!

Now, Chuck needs to let Greg Bakker do more of the track prep and We're set!

No matter what track you pull for, it's going to be a great summer!

I will give you the nod on that. I've seen close to 200 races at Huset's over the years and probably 25-30 WoO races. Hardly ever missed Cheater's Days. Very few yawners in years past. One of my all time favorites was Wolfgang in Leonard McCarl's black 7x (he'd been fired from the Kodiak #18 a couple days before) and Jerry Richert Jr in the blue Taggert Racing #81. September 1988 and they went at it tooth and nail. Doug won it with a pass on the second to last lap. I'd say there were at least 8-10 lead changes during that race maybe more. When Huset's had enough cars for 4 and 5 heats we regularly took the two hour drive to get there. When the car counts got down to 2 and 3 heats we pretty much quit going. I too have many fond memories of Huset's. I'd like to see it come back, but I have my doubts. Wait and find out for sure I guess.

What's the regular Knoxville purse? What I saw listed was the NSL purse at Knoxville.

It's on their website. 5000 to win 3500 for 2nd.
